The Billionaire's Reluctant Bride

The Billionaire's Reluctant Bride

Today, I sensed, would bring veils of deception to the forefront actions hidden behind polite words, motives concealed under practiced expressions, and ambitions disguised as loyalty. Adrian’s note rested on the desk, crisp and deliberate as always: Deception will surface. Observe, anticipate, and guide. Missteps are costly. The message was short, but its implications were weighty. In Adrian’s world, deception was never simply malicious; it could be defensive, ambitious, protective, or manipulative, and the challenge lay in discerning intent while managing impact. My pulse quickened with anticipation. Today would test my judgment, intuition, and ability to influence outcomes with subtlety an

Betrayed by my sister, Deceived by my husband

Betrayed by my sister, Deceived by my husband

Slowly, his bloodshot eyes drifted away from mine, sliding up the winding marble staircase toward the closed door of the upper hallway where our daughter was hidden away from him. “It’s not over, Stacy,” he rasped, his voice dropping into a raspy, ominous whisper that sent a cold shudder down my spine. “You might have won this round. You might have succeeded in manipulating a four-year-old child into forgetting her own father... but this isn't over. I’m not going to let another man raise my blood.”

my husband, my love, that was built on lies. “You didn’t marry me because you loved me,” I whispered. “You married me because I was compensated for my fathers life. For my ruined childhood!!.” And in that moment..I broke down and screamed. “So it was a Marriage of Deceit? It was all an orchestrated game for you all?”

Love in Deceit

Love in Deceit

Now, he was just a man in a suit too expensive for grief, staring at a city too fast to notice that he’d come undone. Each time he’d written a variation of the truth: about Alexei, about the job offer, about Moscow, about Irina’s manipulation. About how he’d seen her before they ever met. He had fallen in love before he knew he was capable of continuing the execution of his vengeance. His finger hovered above the “send” button now. It shook. But he didn’t press it. A coward’s tactic. Not yet. Because truth wasn’t enough anymore. It had to come with repentance.

Deceitful Relations

Deceitful Relations

“Right, but how am I supposed to make myself look 20 years older? There’s only so much I can do, and even then, I doubt it’ll do much.” “I’ve already thought about that. You can just say you have a rare genetic disorder that makes you look younger than you already are.” “This all seems more complicated than simply telling your parents the truth.” “I know, but I enjoy keeping this part of my life a secret. There’s just something thrilling about living a double life. I’ll tell them when I get bored or tired of it.” The next night… He came back at the arranged time and got ready. “Look at you,” Myrine complimented. “I’d be shooting my shot if I was straight and you were a bit older. Rebirth: What’s Left Of Me

Rebirth: What’s Left Of Me

Debbie's entire body went rigid. "The two accompanying ladies will be sentenced to three months of community service for their help in falsifying evidence," he continued. "Since Leigh Spencer has woken up, you've been placed on five years of house arrest. If he had died, you would've received an almost twenty-year sentence as all the evidence points to you." Debbie's breath hitched. She bit her nails, her face twisting in disbelief. "Daddy woke up... but since my punishment has only been reduced, he must've..."

I wondered. “Nuances,” he smiled with genuine enjoyment, his face lighting with the expression. “Fae cannot lie, but if their language tells you that they’re not telling the truth, is it really a lie? The language of deceit was initially developed as a literary device. It was their way of saying, this is an imagined story, and not a true event. When the cataclysm of mankind began, they evolved that language into one they use with man.” “And the Deceit of Elovyn is written in the language of deceit?” I puzzled it out. “So, it could be implying that Elovyn is lying, or just that the poem is a creation and not a true event?”

Leave it to Everleigh to make a person long for their own broody, sexy dragon. Seriously though, I couldn't put this book down. The world this author has created is so vibrant and fun it makes you want to dive in to the pages.
Sarah.
I really loved the book, I wish there were more like it on this app. The characters are charming and the story is beautifully written, the premise makes me want to continue reading the other books. I hope there will be lots more like this one and maybe even longer

Bound by deception

Bound by deception

" His voice echoed like a blade. My pulse spikes. I try to pull away. He doesn't let me. “It's nothing,” I say. Lie. He sways more and more. “Please don’t deceive me.”. Despite my heart-pounding shiver, I still managed to laugh with great force. “You have no right to demand the truth from me, Ethan.” He sighed. When you keep your own secrets, it's not possible. His jaw flexes. His speech emits a flickering light, leaving it unreadable.

Vows Of Deception

Vows Of Deception

“I’ve made mistakes. I’ve done things I regret. But I’m not lying to you. Not about this.” I swallowed hard, my heart pounding in my chest. I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t know how to respond. I wanted to believe him. I wanted to let go of the fear that had been gnawing at me, the fear that had kept me from opening up to anyone for so long. But how could I? How could I trust him when everything about our relationship had been built on deceit? “I don’t know if I can trust you,” I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper. “I don’t know if I can ever trust anyone again.”

The Don’s Deception

The Don’s Deception

Faced with his friend's angry questions, Dante's expression remained unchanged as he answered coldly, "I'll prepare a fake marriage certificate for her. I love her anyway, so what does it matter if the certificate is real or fake?" "If she finds out, she'll definitely leave you!" "I won't let her find out, but even if she did, she wouldn't leave me. She's carrying my child." I felt like a bucket of ice water had been poured over me, chilling me to the bone. No one knew that to get closer to Dante, I had deliberately learned all the mafia languages, including Italian. Therefore, I understood every single word they said. Each sentence felt like countless sharp blades stabbing deep into my hear
