Seraphina looked at Silas, her hand touching his gold-and-sapphire skin one last time. "I didn't die thirty years ago to see you become a puppet, Silas," she whispered. She turned and lunged for the Silver Alpha, her liquid-gold aura expanding into a massive, world-ending wing of starlight. "I am the original 'Heresy'!" Seraphina roared. "And the Queen is closing the account!"

Slowly, I turned my head and came face-to-face with a who could only be described as a god in human form. Oh my God! My subconscious screeched in disbelief. God sent an angel indeed. I mean only angels can be this good looking, right? He had dark silver eyes and jet black hair which made him look divine, complementing his god-like look. Strands of his hair fell on his face. His sharp jaw seemed as if it was carved by God himself. And the silver lip ring attached to his pale pink lips was my last undoing. With eyes glued to his lips, the only thoughts that claimed my mind were;

From her shoulders descended a sheer cape that shimmers faintly, long enough to trail behind her like liquid moonlight. Her face is bare with no makeup.

“Her.” Seraphina’s Secret Seraphina stepped backward. “Me?” Mora nodded. “You were never supposed to live.” Sophia immediately stepped between them. “You’re lying.” “Am I?” Mora looked at Seraphina. “Your daughter is not alive.” Sophia’s expression changed. “What are you saying?” “She’s a contradiction.” Mora explained. Seraphina was created from the First Thought. She existed before life. She existed before death. Therefore she didn’t belong to either.

“You know, Ren, you haven’t even told us much about your mate. What’s she like?” I let his words sink in. I let him rope my thoughts and guide them away from the rage. “Small,” I breathed. “She smelt like vanilla and peaches hidden under a coat of ash.” Seraphine was the most beautiful woman I had ever laid eyes on, but I didn’t want to be shallow. I paused and recounted our first meeting. “She… stood up to the demon even though he could have snapped his fingers and killed her. She wanted to be with me. I would scream at this damn machine if it weren't for the little baby suckling peacefully at Orchidid's breast next to me. "You're talking about people, not commodities," I hiss. Orchidid 's hand touches my shoulder. "Orchid," she says in a pacifying voice. "Remember. The seraph is a machine. He doesn't think like you and me." She's right, of course.
