I feel shivers in my spine at the danger of it all I step keep moving until I am very sure he is around and there he is. King Alonso, ruler of the Alistair Lycan Kingdom, my best friend since childhood. But it is not really him anymore. The beast that stands before me is twice the size of a normal Lycan- just as a Lycan king should be.

“The Lycan king will be here by noon, and the presence of everyone is needed downstairs. The order insists we all welcome him in the next 20 minutes." The person said and then I recognized the voice, it was the head maid. As luck would have it, she didn't come in, she only spoke from the door. I cleared my throat, attempting to steady my voice. "I'll be there shortly," I managed to reply, my voice strained. This was the first time I'll be meeting someone so powerful especially the Lycan king, so I would try my best to look presentable. His reputation for being extremely cruel and vicious was well-known across the entire kingdom. People had heard many stories about his lack of mercy or kindne

The dawn was just breaking over the Blackstone Pack’s grounds, casting long shadows across the assembled crowd in the courtyard. The elders of the Lycan Council, each draped in ceremonial robes that bore the insignia of their rank, stood alongside King Alaric. The Lycan King’s presence alone cast an aura of solemn authority, his silver gaze steely and unyielding. Kane stood by his father’s side, his own expression unreadable yet tense, his protective stance making it clear that his support lay with Lyra.

She turns me around, slides her hand on my cheek and whispers. “Don’t give up yet, Izzy. I contacted the new Lycan King. He is coming Izzy, he is coming to save us… Please hold on just a little longer…” My heart seems to miss a beat and something stirs within my head when Kyria mentions the new Lycan King and that he is coming, but I don’t think I have that long left within me. Kyria snaps her head toward the door, leans over and gives me a soft kiss on the forehead before turning me back around and then she disappears. My heart sinks as I hear his voice.

A lot of destruction has already been caused and they don't want to cause it further. Lycan King taps his shoes on the floor, waiting for his mate to step down and bring her to his house so he can finally claim her. He could have done the same thing back at his house in the afternoon, but he didn't because he wanted to take her with him in front of her parents to show her that she now has no one to look to except him and that now she has no nowhere to run.

An awkward silence pervaded the air, and suddenly, like clockwork, they all burst out laughing at the exact same time. "Who are you, lad?" the girl asked in the same accent as the oldest. "I am going to be the Lycan-King." Another bout of laughter. "Do me a favor and kill this joker," he ordered. "Good," I chuckled, "I like having the oldest and strongest as my servant, it would have been a shame to kill you."

But even as I spoke the words, a small, nagging voice whispered in the back of my mind. What if she had finally escaped for good? I shook my head, refusing to entertain the thought. Lyra has no freedom of her own, and I would bring her back. No matter the cost. A knock on the door pulled me from my thoughts. “Come in,” I barked. Beta Markus entered. “Alpha,” he began, “I have an urgent message from the Lycan King.” “What does he want?” I asked as I straightened in my chair. “He’s requested an audience with you,” he said.

I asked, feeling anxious. "I've never been more sure about anything in my entire life." Shakily, I offered him my right hand. He undid the buttons of his shirt and took it off. He extended his claws and clawed his chest, right over his heart. The skin tore easily and the wound started bleeding immediately. He took my hand in his and made a small cut in the middle of my palm before he placed it over the bleeding wound on his chest. "I, Dimitri Volkov, Beta of The Rogue Pack, solemnly vow to loyally serve Avalyn Volkov, Luna of the Rogue Pack, Queen of Mozog, for as long as I shall live," he vowed as we looked into each other's eyes.

He was a Lycan, a stronger and older race. In battle, they fought in a half-human, half-wolf form, making them more agile and powerful than ordinary werewolves. But Lycans were very rare. "But how are you here?" I asked, finally taking his hand for a handshake. "Tracking a few vicious rogues," he said, furrowing his brow. I remembered Blake mentioning rogue attacks along the border recently. Just then, a doctor walked over. "I'm sorry, Alpha Logan. We did our best, but we couldn't stop your brother's bleeding."

A shape I knew like breath. I arched a brow. “And who is this elusive savior?” He hesitated, like saying the name too loudly might summon him. “He is the Lycan King —” “Lucian BloodyMoon.”
