I laughed and said, “Yeah they are.” I sat there in the quiet of the house for a moment. I knew my younger brother, Seth, was at a friend's house. Seth had just turned seventeen and had one more year left of school. I’m not sure what his plans were after high school. I don’t even think he knows what he wants to do yet. I watched my dad for a moment and wondered why he wasn’t hanging out with uncle Owen today. Since they were retired, they really didn’t have much to do other than ranch stuff for aunt Cat.

he said, turning to face Linda who stared at him in shock. Roland faced Linda as well and went down on his knees. His voice broke as he spoke. "I'm sorry, Linda. I shouldn't have disrespected and insulted you. I'm really sorry." Linda nodded, the shock still evident on her face as her main focus was on Seth. Seth clapped Roland on the shoulder. "Good boy," he smiled. "Now scram!" he snapped. Roland scrambled to his feet and rushed out of the office. Seth turned to face everyone, who were staring at him in shock. "What?" he walked to take a seat. "Haven't you guys seen someone who lost a tooth before?" he chuckled and sat down.

He was a chicken. Seth Luther is a twenty-three-year-old law student in his final year. He descends from the Luther family, owners of the largest ranches in the country, which makes him part cowboy. His physique says a lot about his background, standing at six feet tall, blue eyes, long ginger coloured hair, with a lean body that goes with it.

Gram cleared her throat, interrupting Seth, and tilted her head down to look at him above her glasses as she took a sip of coffee.

Seth had teased him for wearing Bea around town in a frontpack, but if he was honest with himself, he was rather jealous of how happy and in love the two of them were. The only consolation was that he wasn’t the only single person here: Jubilee—still too young to date, in Seth’s mind—was single, along with Thea and Ash Younger. Seth didn’t know Heath well, but as far as he knew, he wasn’t dating anyone, either.

Seth demands and Vali chuckles. “I do not take orders from you, Prince or not, Boy.” Seth goes red in the face, then his eyes flash red and his fangs drop. Vali chuckles, “I am over a thousand years old, boy. You do not stand a fucking chance.” Seth falters but is still clearly angry.

He sat down at the table and rubbed his face with both hands, and I recognized the gesture because he had been doing it since we were teenagers whenever he couldn't argue his way out of something he didn't want to accept. "You've already decided," he said. "Yes." "Brynn—" "He's getting quieter," I said. "Every week, Seth, he gets a little quieter. Julie sits next to him now instead of running circles around him, and she's four years old and she doesn't understand what she's sensing but she's sensing it, and I am not going to sit here and wait for a registry match that might not come in time when there is one option I haven't tried." Seth looked at the table. I waited.

A small voice says next to me making me turn to her in surprise. "Really?" She nods her head with a smile though I can see her colored cheeks. "I'm Macy. That is Seth." She blushes when he finds her pointing at him but he grins. I look at their exchange, intrigued. "Sorry for messing but how old are you?" She looks sixteen and he looks at least twenty eight. "No, it's okay. I'm twenty one. I'll be turning twenty two next week." She says excitedly like a small kid but clears her throat and stands straighter.
