"Conrad, if I went back to the Summers family, what would you do?" Conrad answered without hesitation. "I'd break up with you, of course. I could never reach your family's level." After hearing that, Quinn pushed down every word of confession she wanted to say and began a seven-year disguise. Running Summers Group was not easy. Every time family matters left her irritated and exhausted, she would return to Eastford. Wherever Conrad was, that was her second home. After so many years together, some things were already carved into her bones. Quinn could not live without Conrad. She could not leave him.

After returning home, I went straight to the basement without uttering a single word. When the last bit of light above my head disappeared, all I could see was darkness. According to what I'd read, a person could only be driven to the brink of death after going seven days without food or water. Thus, I hoped they would lock me up for seven days. That way, I should be able to bypass the system and finally die. Every day, I relied on the voices outside to determine the time. By the sixth day, I was already so weak from hunger that I could barely move.

It was weak but present, possibly because of his bedridden state. "Just thirteen days." The usually quiet 7th answered nonchalantly. "What!"

Envy. Spiders that formed from the darkest corners of the mind crawled into cool fingertips, to skitter beneath the tightly drawn flesh, rough and scarred from a world too cruel. A gleam danced in a pair of eyes that had become shaded with repressed emotions, dangerous and boiling. A kettle on the stove, steam rising to curl against the ceiling above, drowning the body in waves of angry heat.

He ran to me, panting heavily, but his eyes were shining with an unusually bright light. It was a light I hadn't seen in his eyes for a very long time. A light mixed with nervousness, anticipation, and even a bit of boyish anxiety. He pulled the velvet box from his sea-sprayed jacket and snapped it open. Then, he dropped to one knee. "Chloe." "It's been seven years. Thank you for walking these seven years with me." "I know I haven't been good enough, that I've put you through a lot. But please believe me, from this day forward—"

Then Helen and Richard left, saying that they would come to see me tomorrow. Jeffrey stood outside the door, hesitant to leave. "Audrey, we can never be together again, right?" Hearing this, Kash wanted to go up and hit him, but I stopped Kash. "Yes. "I’ve been unhappy for the past seven years. Jeffrey, how many seven years are there in one’s life?"

He was the one that was planning it as he did every other year. This year I was hopeful that I would meet my mate and so would Seven. "I stress about not meeting my mate" I pointed out sadly. "We are late bloomers," he said laughing. Seven found everything funny and lightened up any tense situation. He was soft and kind, too loving and extremely trusting. He was a hugger and he never ceased to give. His anger had a special box in his heart and it was locked away. It only came out to play on special occasions such as when the need to fight arose.

He smacked his thigh and ranted, "You don't have to hold it against Claire anymore, Zachary. We've already taught her a lesson the last time she brought up calling off the engagement!" Startled, Zachary repeated, "You taught her a lesson?" "That's right! Rest assured, for we're definitely on your side," Angus said hastily. "If she acts up again, I'll make her kneel in front of the house for three days straight! We'll see if she'll still have the nerve to throw a tantrum after that." Zachary squeezed the glass in his hand so tightly that it shattered. "You'll… make her kneel for three days straight?"
