Bride For The Water God Novels & Stories

She drew in a shaky breath and glanced down at the surface of the water, watching the faint ripples where her body disturbed it. The water seemed to mirror her heartbeat now—quickening with each thought of him, slowing when she tried to pull away. It was alive, in some strange, quiet way. Watching her. Holding her. The sigil beneath her breast throbbed once, warm and steady, like it too was aware of the gaze she bore. “Is this what it means to be claimed?” she asked, barely louder than the mist around her. “No,” he answered. “This is what it means to be chosen.”

Since Alpha Jax was an only child, Myrene represented his sister while Maya represented Aurora's sister. As Alpha Jax was the Alpha of the pack, the oldest woman in the Pack, Grandma Frenzer performed the ceremony by taking the silver platter containing the three coconuts and stood at the entrance. She collected the water from the coconut by cracking a small hole in it. The water was collected into a white pot used specially for the occasion. The water was collected and the oldest woman in the pack washed the feet of the new bride. It was repeated three times with the coconuts.

he stated simply. Todd's eyes widened. Was the man not going to force a marriage of convenience on him? Would he be able to choose freely? Regardless, Todd already knew he only wanted a contracted marriage. He had no time for things like commitment or love. No, his wife would have to understand that this marriage would be in name only. "However..." Jan began, "I want her to be a virginal bride." "What?!" Todd croaked. "Yes, a virgin bride. I am a very religious man, you know, and even though I have never pushed you to attend church with me, it's very important to me that you find a virtuous young lady. Also, I ask that there be no sex before marriage," he specified.

Christian questioned. “It is believed that the bride is the goddess of wealth and prosperity of the house so when the bride pushes the pot filled with rice with her right foot and enters the house, it signifies that she will bring prosperity and fortune to the home,” Rose explained and Mishka was smiling listening to her. “Now come on!!” Mishka followed the direction, kicking the pot gently with her right foot and dipping both her feet in the big plate of red water, she took a step inside the house while Christian was holding her long dress so that she could complete the rituals.

They prayed to Helios to let the brides in until Solas’s anger calms down and Helios agreed because of his own growing fear. Every decade since then, Helios allowed the cave to open, and a bride was sent to Solas, hoping to placate him and protect the village from his fury. Each bride was a sacrifice, a desperate attempt to stave off destruction. But Solas, consumed by anger and bitterness, never touched a single woman sent by the villagers. Instead, he killed each bride and threw their bodies out of the cave, a grim testament to his unyielding rage and refusal to accept his banishment.

We bowed our heads as he began chanting the holy verses, ancient and melodic words of devotion to the goddess the vampires worshiped. This gathering, prayer, and worship. Everything felt strange, but Carlos standing by my side made it all familiar. I tried to mimic him, though my thoughts kept drifting to Lena, to Freya, and to the weight of the future bearing down on both of us. After several minutes of long prayer, the priest approached with a silver tray. Two crystal glasses of crimson liquid rested atop of it. “The ritual is completed with a blood offering.” The priest announced, his voice echoing in the vast temple. “Through it, the blessings of Goddess Sanguis flow into the bond of the

“Tonight we celebrate the mate bond between two people chosen by the Goddess to become one and lead our pack. They are the halves of a whole; two souls coming together to form one being with two hearts beating in a single rhythm. In that spirit, I ask the elements to give you their blessing.” “Blessed be this bond with the gifts from Air — new beginnings that come each day with the rising sun. Blessed be this marriage with the gifts from Fire — the light of the heart, the heat of passion, and the warmth of a loving home. Blessed be this marriage with the gifts from Water — the rushing excitement of a raging river, the soft and pure cleansing of a rainstorm, and a commitment as deep as the oc

The priestess lit the brazier behind her and turned back to the couple on their knees. “I call to the goddess in her glory. We need your wisdom, and your blessing on the pairing I have before me.” She raised her hands and tilted her face up to the moon. “Mother of all, we call to thee. Come, bless this pairing. One was forsaken, their mate bond shattered. One passed over, their mate bond never found.” She looked back down at the pair. “They have chosen each other and forsaken all others.” Derek snorted a little, earning a glare from the priestess herself. He raised his hands and mouthed a quick sorry before she turned back to the pair. “As your loyal servants, we know your wisdom in our pair

The other shook his head again. “I do not think so, my grandmother used to tell me about the gods that live in water. She said they can live on land as well. She told me that long ago people used to worship the water gods and would ask for blessings from them. Like when a woman cannot have children, they would go and pray to the water gods and give offerings. She said when they wake up in the morning and the offerings were not there then that meant the gods had accepted their offering and the woman would fall pregnant and have children.” The other one could not believe what his colleague was saying.

Kaede says aloud, looking towards us with her blind eyes but seeing everything simultaneously. “We ask that the infinite light of the divine God Xamnir and Goddess Tiarin shine upon this union. In that spirit, I ask the elements to extend their blessing onto you.” The other sisters move from the altar and encircle us. “Blessed be this marriage with the gifts from Air — new beginnings that come each day with the rising sun, communication of the heart, mind, body and soul. Blessed be this marriage with the gifts from Fire — the light of the heart, the heat of passion, and the warmth of a loving home. Blessed be this marriage with the gifts from Water — the rushing excitement of a raging river,
