Severing Charm Hogwarts Legacy Novels & Stories

I rush forward, a sword of green light forged from the magic of my soul blazing in my hand. I make it 10 feet forward before I hit a wall of energy, but I am determined. I will not give up on either one of them. I will not give up on saving them both. I push against the barrier with the power of my will and the strength of the concealment charm, but I only make it inches further before exhausting both. With a final burst of energy, the charm fizzes and dies, falling to the ground as a hardened lump. "It was a valiant try," Axel concedes, "but now it is your turn to watch me take what is mine."

"What happens to him?" Sera shrugged. It was a cold, dismissive movement. "You tell us." The guilt that had been on her face minutes ago was gone. She was standing there with no visible expression, just a cold, terrifying stillness. I shivered. Looking at her was like looking at a mirror of her father. "Before now," Sera said, her voice dropping into a professional tone, "we didn't know it was possible to place a charm in someone's heart." She frowned, looking at Fenris and then at the girl, Mina, who was hovering near the door. She shook her head. "How did you even do it?" * * *

He even reaches out and adjusts the necklace for her. A sharp pain rips through my chest. The mate bond is starting to crack. Chloe’s eyes land on the blood-red charm on the altar. "Ooh, what's this? Such a pretty design." "It's a Bonding Charm," I say, my voice hoarse. "Drawn with my magic and my heart’s blood." "A Bonding Charm?" Chloe's eyes light up. "Jayden, you prepared such a special gift to celebrate my one-year anniversary with the pack! You’re so thoughtful!"

I said with alarm. "Relax. I have the containment charm with me," he said, and I gave a blank look at him. What exactly was a containment charm? "What is a containment charm?" I asked Adrian. He rolled his eyes heavenward, as if praying for the patience to deal with me. "The charm was made by Mercy. It has the power to keep a demon spirit bound to an object; say a Glass bottle. I could trap the demon for now. Mercy doesn't know the banishment charms now, but she is learning and would soon be able to master it. Then she would be able to send him over," Adrian said.

The memory of her grandmother's warm embrace flooded her mind, a powerful anchor to her world. "This…" she murmured, her voice shaky but determined, pulling out the charm. "This will be my offering." The figure seemed to study the charm, its luminous gaze fixed on the intricate carvings. "An interesting choice," it finally spoke. "A symbol of resilience, a connection to your heritage. It has strength, but also a hint of… sadness?" Evie swallowed hard. "My grandmother passed away recently," she confessed. "This charm was a way to keep her memory close."

I ducked behind a pillar, every nerve strung tight as I watched them through the gaps. She was saying something about “blessing the womb” and how “only fresh blood and clove should be inside the charm.” I knew those things. I had seen a girl lose her mind after using one—vomiting in corners, seeing dead people. That charm wasn’t just powder and hope. Olga had touched it.

My skin prickled with the sensation of magic pressing against me. Then, suddenly, it stopped. The pressure released. "It's done," Vera whispered, crushing out the herbs. "But it only lasts ten minutes. After that, the barrier snaps back. If you're still inside when it does, you'll be trapped." "Understood." I handed Marcus and David each a counter-charm from the pouch. "Remember, we get in, get the kids, and get out. No heroics." "Just the regular amount of stupid bravery," David muttered.

So with that, I finally made up my mind. I took a potion inside my drawer, one that I had been keeping handy in urgent cases like this. It was a special potion given to me as a gift by one of our allies, the Witch Cavern. They specialized in making different charms like the one that would make bountiful crops, intensify the mate bond, and other stuff. Their leader gifted me a special one, a charm that could make my scent disappear for a period of time. I was saving this for so long and now, it was the time to use it.

But she was no longer in this world. I hugged her little wolf pup plushie, burying my face deep into the soft fur—there was still a faint trace of her scent. After hanging up, I took out the severance potion I had prepared long ago. The deep purple liquid shimmered coldly under the moonlight, just like the dim glow of the cemetery that night. As I tilted my head back and drank it all, I thought I could hear the sound of a blood-bound contract breaking within me. From that moment on, I severed all ties—

And he had escaped her wrath by inches—watched her destroy his pack of loyal hounds with fire and wind and words older than memory. He could still feel the sting of her magic on his skin. Still smell the scorched pine and sulfur from the clearing where she made her final stand. A part of him had wanted to stay. To fight. Maybe even to die by her hands. But he hadn’t. Cowardice, maybe. Or the pull of unfinished vengeance. He reached into his coat and pulled out something small, wrapped in cloth. A sliver of silver, scorched at the edge—the **moon-charm** she’d once worn around her neck, the one he’d found in the ash.
