He suddenly commanded," place a heavy shakle on him." A minute after he had given that order, a shackle was immediately brought and hung on Broderick's neck. It was so heavy that Broderick doubt if he would be able to stand. It was as if an heavy weight was placed on him. One literally have to commit treason against the country before shackles can be placed on them. The shackles is like a big chains whose weight is heavier that a stone. "Henceforth, you will serve as my slave. You will be able to walk freely in the palace attending to me at my call," Nolan said.

I can't seem to lay the book down, Something exciting at every chapter. Just when I think Elliot will know Hadon and Layla are his children, Avery has another excuse. Each chapter drive the reader deeper and deeper into the mess.

Shadowed Crown

Shadowed Crown

His voice was so hoarse that it made my ears sting, "I wondered why that thing didn't scoop out your heart. Turns out, your blood was the best shield..." …… I woke up drenched in sweat, back in my bed. It was a week before the Haunts world descended. The gold bar from last night's burial was still heavy in my pocket.

Trapped In Shackles 2

"Don't be ridiculous, Terrence, and stop using such an awful word! You're treating me like a goddamn villain!" Terrence couldn't help smirking "But you look like a hot villain right now. And I'm eager to surrender if you use your deadly charms on me." "Hmm.." Athena began poking her fingers into his chest with a devilish grin. "You're aware that I've got mood swings from time to time right?" "U-huh!" He nodded.

Alpha's Fated One

Alpha's Fated One

Chapter 7 : I'll Slit Both Your Throats “ We are not trying to play dumb with you but your son is under a spell ”, Sharon went straight to the point. Silence reigned between them for some minutes as the Lord stared at them as though they had said something stupid and then they heard him chuckle, which made them frown. “ What's funny ” Danielle asked. “ My guards will escort you both out of my mansion. I'm letting you go because I am in a good mood ”. The Lord said in a calm voice, “ Sarah, make me blood tea ”. He said to the servant, who immediately left.

I WAS RAPED

I WAS RAPED

I spat as I felt Jack pulling me backwards, but the man who caught me kept a hold of my chains, no matter how much I struggled. "Maybe not yet, but you never know what might happen." I carried on glaring at me but winced in pain when Jack encased my wrist in a bone crushing grip and I knew I was in trouble. "I'm so sorry about that, my Lord. I assure you that she will be properly punished so she learns her place." This guy was a Lord? No wonder he looked all business like. He must have been fucking rich! "Just get back to the auction," was all he said in response and I was quickly dragged back onto the stage, the chain which I was connected to, tightly gripped by another guy as Jack went bac

My alien Prince Charming

he replied, his eyes gleaming with ambition. Without warning, Lord Varnaak unleashed a wave of illusions, making it seem as though the king was surrounded by multiple versions of himself. King Radia, caught off guard, stumbled back, his powerful blows swinging wildly but hitting nothing. Lord Varnaak seized the opportunity, conjuring a shard of ice that glinted in the torchlight. The king, unaware of his weakness, didn't react in time as the shard pierced his side. He stumbled, his strength waning as the cold spread through his veins.

His Lordship Alexander Kane

His Lordship Alexander Kane

Enraged, the Lord of War unleashed his power, his aura flaring as he lunged at Alexander. However, Sheila was quicker, stepping in and laying down a beating before the Lord of War could touch Alexander. After an explosive exchange, the Lord of War stumbled back and crashed to the ground, completely thrown off balance. "Anyone else feeling lucky? Step right up," Sheila challenged, eyeing the onlookers with a composed, commanding stare. "Leader Sheila, your protection won't cut it." Quito, backed by his own Lord of War, was not the least bit intimidated. If he could snag that amulet right there and fix his little problem, he would not have to gamble his life at Witchwood Summit.

The King's faceless wife.

The King's faceless wife.

The man was standing over Barlion, dragging the covers off of his body before he started shaking him. Panic immediately took over and I tried to fight my legs to stand but it was all in vein. "Barlion... Barlion, wake up... BARLION." Lord Jeremy kept calling out, shaking his nephew by the shoulders. "Get away from him." I whispered but I doubt he heard me. He just kept shaking Barlion. To my relief, Sir Shadow came quick amd from the blood running down his nose, I could tell that Lord Jeremy fought his way to get here.

I’ve been hocked on this story. Glad I started reading this book when it was completed though because I also hate with a passion the waiting for updates. At first this Bar, future King needed a royal kick in the behind did he really think she had a choice in any of this.

I LOVE this book! It’s the only book I’ve really kept up with that wasn’t complete yet when I started reading it I waited for the daily updates and I’m not the waiting type. Usually I lose interest after awhile but this book hooked me in and continued to keep me hook. Thank you for this amazing book

The Lord of the sins

The Lord of the sins

In the next moment, she was staring at his dark eyes with her legs going weak and fragile under her. “Don't make me wait, or you're going to regret it,“ his voice was twice as harsh as Freya remembered. She trembled at that moment and only managed to calm down after reassuring herself that this was all a bad dream that she was soon going to wake up from. The Lord then shifted his gaze to the Priest and he came back to standing in front of the table. The priest blesses the couples' union and starts to ask while inadvertently avoiding the Lord's gaze: “Lord Dra—” he pauses from a groan from the Lord, and Freya immediately gets a hold on the fact that “The Lord” didn't want the priest to mentio

Frequently Asked Questions

I love how 'Shackled' leans hard into character-driven drama — the people carry the book as much as the plot does. The core cast is compact but vivid: Lord Aldric Voss is the central figure, a ruler whose public strength masks private uncertainty and a history that haunts his decisions. Opposite him is Mira Solenne, a fierce, sharp-witted woman who begins the story literally and figuratively in chains; her arc from captive to catalyst is the emotional backbone of the novel. Then there’s Captain Roan Hale, the commander who’s torn between duty and conscience; he’s the kind of secondary lead who steals scenes because he’s written with real moral weight. Rounding out the quartet is Elys Varen, a scholar-mystic whose knowledge of old rites and secrets explains a lot of the world’s darker corners.

Beyond those four, the supporting cast matters just as much. The antagonist forces come through characters like Marquis Devere, a conniving noble whose politicking and cruelty drive much of the external conflict, and the Warden, whose literal and symbolic role as jailer ties into the book’s themes. Small but memorable figures — Lady Anya, the temperate courtier who softens truths; Brother Joren, a conflicted cleric; and a handful of streetwise allies Mira picks up — flesh out the city and show how different strata respond to the same oppression.

What I especially liked is how relationships shift: alliances form and fracture in believable ways, and even side characters get little moments that reveal larger social systems. The ensemble serves different narrative purposes — redemption, betrayal, conscience, and revelation — so the story never feels like it’s stuck on one protagonist’s viewpoint. Reading 'Shackled' felt like eavesdropping on a tense household where every word could change the balance of power — and I found myself invested in each person's choices long after I closed the book.
