Each shard mirrored the shattered fragments of my own existence, a stark representation of the pain that consumed me. I sank to my knees, the weight of my despair pressing me further into the cold embrace of the floor. The room spun around me, a kaleidoscope of shattered dreams and unfulfilled promises. How had everything become so complicated? How had I become entangled in a web of emotions that threatened to suffocate me?

Shatter! The glass pane of the abandoned hangars side office exploded inward as Marcus hurled his shoulder against the frame. The sound of shattering glass filled the air and sharp shards skipped across the oil-stained floor. He didn't wait for the dust to clear. He reached through the gap grabbed the manual iron deadbolt and twisted it with a loud snap. The sound echoed through the hangar.

Liam stood nearby, silent, unreadable. "Come," Ella said softly, guiding me to the couch. "I'm sorry. Was I shouting too much?" I tried to smile, to ease her guilt. But it came out twisted, hollow. "It wasn't your shouting," I said, my voice weak. "It was the glass. When it shattered, it... brought something back." "Oh, dear." Her hand closed gently over mine, trying to steady the tremble. "Here," Liam said quietly, offering me a glass of water. I stared at him for a moment, surprised. Then I took it. The cold water slid down my throat and seemed to calm the storm in me, at least for now.

“Sophia, there's no house without issue, there's no perfect family, we just need courage to overcome the challenges and pass through the phase, stop overreacting” Sophia's tears continued to fall, her voice trembling with a mix of sorrow and anger. “I thought I could trust James. I thought we had something real. But now, looking back, I see that everything was built on lies and betrayal. It’s about the fact that he took everything I believed in and tore it apart.”

Sage's POV The shockwave rippled through the car, shaking the frame, rattling the windows. The vehicle shuddered but held. Good thing it was built strong, military grade, designed to withstand more than just a bumpy road. Debris rained down on the roof, clattering like hailstones, and I ducked my head on instinct, waiting for the sound to stop. What was happening? We were under attack. Here, in broad daylight.

"Don't worry about it." But she was already worrying. I could see it in the way she bit her lower lip, the same thing Mom used to do before the pills made her stop caring about anything. "We're in trouble, aren't we?" Charlotte's voice was small. "Like, real trouble." I wanted to lie. God, I wanted to lie so badly. But I was tired of carrying everything alone, tired of pretending our world wasn't falling apart. "Yeah," I said. "We are." She nodded slowly, stirring sugar into her coffee. "How bad?"

Shards embed themselves in my knuckles, drawing blood that drips onto the pristine white marble in perfect crimson drops. The pain feels good. Real. More real than anything I've felt since Viktor's call turned my world into a fucking wasteland. Blood runs down my fingers as I stand there, breathing hard, staring at my fractured reflection in what's left of the mirror. It can decimate the entire warehouse in an instant! Violet kept screaming. "Are you insane? That means you won't be able to survive as well!" Daniel exclaimed, "I never planned to survive from the start! Kevin's the reason why my life is ruined! I want him to die with me no matter what!" At that moment, Kevin rushed up to Daniel and began beating him up by punching him repeatedly. He might be a forensic doctor, but he hung out with police officers all year round and picked up some moves from them.
