Kiran looked at her curiously, turning to see Lady Meiji's figure gradually becoming translucent and disappearing. He punched at the fading shadow, hoping to disperse or kill it. The shadow vanished as his punch passed through it, causing objects on a distant table to be swept away and shattered by the force. Lady Meiji's shadow was gone. Kiran quickly stood up and ran to the living room, but it was empty. He sniffed the air, detecting only faint incense and a woman's scent. Frustrated and angry at her cunning, he muttered, "Damn Lady Meiji, I didn't expect you to be so treacherous."

Fuck. Something runs past me hiding in the shadows of the woods. I stop in my tracks, scared of death. I can almost hear my heartbeat. My blood is raging in my veins. "Show yourself," I yell angrily. I hear a low growl and see strange eyes focused on me for a second. I scream and fall to the ground. "Alice! Alice! Alice!" The voices have gotten closer. Something is definitely following me in the woods. I stand to my feet hurriedly. My cloth and shoes have mud stains on them. "Fuck," I grunt. The midnight bell rings from afar in the village. What a hell of a way to start my eighteenth-year birthday. I hear the growling clearly as it draws closer to me. My hands are shaking as I grab the dagge

I could feel the pulse of magic beneath my skin, whispering and twitching with impatience. I knelt, placing my palms on the cold stone fountain at the garden’s center. The water shimmered, reflecting faint silver light, and I let the shadows rise. The tendrils slithered across the fountain, curling around the water’s edge. My heartbeat synchronized with their movement. Slowly, carefully, I experimented. A shadow lifted from the fountain, forming a small, coiling serpent. It hissed, flicking its tail as if alive. My eyes widened in awe.

"That crappy orchard your brother bought. It’s got quite a bit of rosemary in it. Ha! Not only has that dump never made a single dime, we still have to pay a crew to maintain it every year." A thought flickered in my mind. I knew that place. The orchard sat on a ruined silver mine, its trees drawing on the soil and the breath of silver for years, gaining a power to ward off evil. The Haunts came with the wind, but silver tamed the wind. Those trees were worth far more than my mother and brother could ever imagine. If my infant spirits had wielded weapons made from that wood, they would have been unstoppable.

Naomi's POV The sunlight had shifted to something softer, more golden. That hour where everything looks like it's been dusted in honey and nostalgia. Layla sat beside me in the garden, humming a lazy tune under her breath while she scrolled through her phone. I closed my eyes for a second, the scent of blooming lavender brushing against me like a lullaby. That peace? It felt rare. Like the kind of silence that wrapped you up instead of drowning you. "Hey," I said softly.

He then puts his hands together and rubs them as fast as he can, his hands looked like they were blurring together like a pool of peachy flesh. His hands suddenly burst into flames but he still kept going. The fire turned blue before turning a bit purplish before it just becomes a purple glow around his hands. Now his hand looking like they weren't moving at all, Shin lowers his hands towards Kagome and suddenly the bandages split open like a knife cut through the middle. All his blood starts drifting towards his hands forming a huge pool of blood under his hands. Then suddenly the pool of blood slowly becomes smaller until it completely disappears. Shin falls to the ground from exhaustion,

Rhea cried, her hand finally touching his as the dome closed over them. The World-Tree let out a sound like a thousand breaking mirrors. The Heart turned a solid, light-absorbing black, and the obsidian leaves began to rain down like a storm of knives. As the witches' seal slammed shut, trapping Rhea and the Shadow-Ash in the pocket dimension, the last thing Rhea saw was the Soul-Seed within the tree cracking open, and a tiny, clawed hand made of pure shadow reaching out to grab the world.
