he confessed as his fingers gently traced my face, revealing his innermost feelings. By now, it was late in the evening, and the moon was high in the blue-gray sky. The cool moonlight seeped through the window into the room. The gentle summer night breeze rustled the sheer curtains. Shadows danced on the walls and floor, like little forest spirits. Norton lowered his head and inched closer to my lips. Just as our kiss was about to land, Lola's voice suddenly echoed from outside the door. "Daddy! Mommy! What are you doing in there?"

Alexandra walked closely behind Aurora as they stepped into the club not wanting to lose sight of her. The interior view overwhelmed her and she almost had a sensory overload from all the things she was feeling at that moment. The music was very loud and the beats thumped hard making her skin vibrate. The dim flashing light casted dark shadows on the faces of the people dancing in the club. This was her first time entering inside a club before. She had always seen one from afar and it had been on her highschool bucket list to go to a club. She felt her inner child squeal from delight that she had finally crossed that off.

“You’re drooling, Little River.” He teases lightly, and I flush. “Sorry” I murmur, but before he can say anything, something moves beside him and moves towards me as if coming in for a hug. I scream and jump back, only to take a close look… What in the Dr. Facilier shit, is this? Is that his shadow casually coming my way? “I-uh-I…” “Back.” He says, and the shadow seems to deflate sadly and then retreat into his actual shadow.

“That smoke—it’s alive.” Aurora’s silver eyes narrowed. The creature’s aura pulsed in sync with the forest’s hum, amplifying the clawing sensation in her mind. “It’s not natural,” she mindlinked. “It’s like the land’s been corrupted—by Nightshade.” The creature lunged, its claws slashing toward Aurora. She dodged with preternatural speed, her wolf’s agility saving her as the claws raked the earth, leaving scorched marks. Mikhail charged, his massive form colliding with the creature, sending it sprawling. Liam and Rylan pounced, their teeth snapping, but the creature’s smoky form flickered, evading their attacks with unnatural grace. Aurora’s heart pounded as she circled, feeling the creature

Bianca didn't hesitate to bite into his neck. Gunnar did all he could to keep from moaning out loud when he felt her canines inside of him. Sparks were flying around them, uniting their souls as one. When Bianca pulled back, there was something he couldn't wait to do. He kissed her deeply, not caring who was watching while he mindlinked her.

With a deep breath, I leaned in and initiated a kiss, our lips meeting softly at first, a tentative touch as if testing the waters. The softness of his lips against mine sent a shiver down my spine, a gentle reminder of the intimacy we once shared so freely. I pressed closer, deepening the kiss, feeling a spark of something familiar ignite in my chest. As if sensing my desire to take this further, Rion responded with a quiet intensity, his lips moving against mine with more urgency. His hands moved to cradle my face, his thumbs brushing softly against my cheeks, grounding me in the moment.

Sora yanks me down to her height with surprising strength, her curls brushing my jaw as she rises onto her toes. For the first time since I've known her, Shadow isn't looking at Cameron, she’s looking at me. Those ridiculous green eyes burn with frustration, hurt, and enough reckless determination to make me nervous. Then her lips crash against mine, biting my lower lips for entrance and that kills coherent thought running through my head. Sora… is… kissing… me.

And on her head sat a silver circlet, the mark of a Luna. The mark that should have been Lyra's. As Lyra watched, unable to move, unable to breathe, unable to look away, Marcus leaned down and kissed Isla. Long and deep. The kind of kiss that spoke of love. Of belonging. Of years together. The pack cheered. They raised their glasses. They celebrated. Two small children, twins by the look of them, ran up and hugged Marcus and Isla's legs. A boy and a girl, both with blonde hair like Marcus. They were laughing, excited by the party.

“I won’t let him hurt you.” Before she could respond, he leaned in, his lips brushing against hers in a kiss that was slow and tender and completely unexpected. Kayla’s eyes fluttered closed, and she leaned into him, her hands resting on his chest as the world around them faded away. They were so lost in each other that neither of them heard the sound of footsteps on the asphalt, or the soft click of a camera shutter capturing the moment in perfect detail.

"Lots of things," he answered distractedly. She let out a sigh of annoyance, but some of the heat was stolen by the soft meowing sound that escaped her when his tongue touched her earlobe. "Like what?" she asked, refusing to be distracted. "For most people it's things like limited telepathy, phantom images-" he said.
