It twisted into a dark, screaming shadow. "If I can’t have the fuel, I’ll take the explosion!" Suit-Gabe roared. The shadow—her own broken soul from before—lunged at June. A monster built of pure sadness. June didn’t fight it. She opened her arms. "I know," she whispered as the shadow hit her. "I know it hurts to be a copy. I know it hurts to be forgotten." She pulled the shadow into her chest. Mixed her own life with that old failure. The room exploded in purple and blue light.

A brooding looking man at the end of the table said. “Me– me too. I refuse.” Stephanie added, stammering as she spoke. “And if I may ask, why?” I asked with a smirk. “Is it that you are slightly guilty?” Zahra said, completing my thoughts. Stephanie shifted in her seat looking down but the brooding looking man didn't. “I don't want to be subjected to pain all in the name of finding some mysterious shadows that I'm not sure even exist. “Oh, you don't have to worry. It only hurts if you're a shadow. It doesn't otherwise and the shadows aren't mysterious. We clearly showed you proof.”

I could believe the sight of seeing two Leos. And the physical real one is fighting like his duplicate is not somewhere else. But how? “My shadow is with you while I was fighting with them. It takes a lot of energy but I still want to do it to prove to you that I am real and you are just one of us.” He added and I looked at him. The one with me looked paler than the one who was fighting over there. So this is the shadow! The shadow is lighter than the real one. “This time, they are not seeing us! We are like the invisible viewers here and they will be back soon. The fight is ending!” he said and I sighed.

I was pinned down but, I would fight with everything in me. I reached out to Rudolph through my mind and gave a mental image of everything. I knew now why I felt so connected to him. It had nothing to do with me, yet it felt like it had everything to do with me. I was his eternal soulmate. It doesn't operate on political logic, territorial ambition or economic leverage. It is an apex hunter tracking a specific frequency." With a swift swipe of her thumb, she activated the sync-pad. A translucent blue holographic map of the high northern ridges bloomed into life above the scarred oak table, casting a cool azure glow over their faces. Several tracking nodes along the outer perimeter were blinking with erratic fading gray signals. Liam leaned over the map, his massive frame effectively blocking the ambient chill of the room

But when I open them again and look towards where he is, I still see black leather wings and crimson eyes. His fighting is even more impressive than what I’ve seen in Sahara’s gladiator ring. When the shadow aims some kind of power, he flies back, flips, and lunges at what I assume is its head. He flaps his wings, pushing the shadow back and aims his sword over it, cutting through it. He twirls again and piercing the center of the shadow over and over again until the shadow fractures and shatters into a million pieces. As soon as that happens, the fog fades, and the dark monster disappears, leaving the shadows of the true darkness behind.
