It attacked with Symmetry. With a flick of its wrist, the surrounding scrap metal flew toward it, forming a shimmering, floating boardroom table. The Shadow sat at the head of it, looking down at Leo with a mixture of pity and contempt.

It twisted into a dark, screaming shadow. "If I can’t have the fuel, I’ll take the explosion!" Suit-Gabe roared. The shadow—her own broken soul from before—lunged at June. A monster built of pure sadness. June didn’t fight it. She opened her arms. "I know," she whispered as the shadow hit her. "I know it hurts to be a copy. I know it hurts to be forgotten." She pulled the shadow into her chest. Mixed her own life with that old failure. The room exploded in purple and blue light.

While we're walking inside, I told Daniel, "Shadow is one of the scariest loan sharks of Colorado so don't get into trouble with him. For him, everyone's the same." "Is this a warning?" "Definitely." Shadow walked to me and greeted me saying, "Lucy! I didn't think you'd be coming for real. What's the problem?" Since he was surrounded by his guys I asked him, "Can we talk somewhere private?" He nodded and took us to a room where he held some guys in chains. I pointed at them and asked, "What about them?" Shadow ordered his guys to get rid of them. Once we're alone, I pointed at Daniel and said to Shadow, "He's one of the grandsons of Mr Anderson."

"You're the part of the magic that's afraid to die." "I am the part of you that remembers the Cellar without the hope," the Shadow countered, stepping forward. "I am the doubt that whispers that Félix will eventually leave, that the twins will eventually hate the weight of their names, and that the North will eventually burn. I am the End of the Story." The battle on the obsidian platform was a visceral, psychological collision. We weren't fighting with steel; we were fighting with Definitions. The Shadow-Emma moved with a fluid, terrifying grace. Every time I struck with my heavy, cold shard of starlight-glass, she dissolved into mist, only to reform and strike me with a beam of "Idealized-

They snap, one by one, each fracture a lightning strike to my soul. Stop! The meadow dissolves. The chamber rushes back. The machines explode. Veyra is thrown against the wall. Ryland shields the twins, his roar swallowed by the blast. I collapse, gasping, my skin raw but clean. The silver veins are gone. But the screen still bleeds—the shadow is here. The city shakes. The Architect’s laughter echoes through the streets. *You can’t kill a shadow, he whispers. *But you can bleed for trying.

“She told me that I would want to give up. That others would try to dim the light in me. That I’d be called names. ‘Shadow. Curse. Ghost.’ She said all of that. As if she knew.” Ryker didn’t move, barely breathed. Trixie lifted her eyes. “But she said, ‘You are not a shadow. You are not my ghost. You are my dawn. My blood. The fire they’ll never tame.’” Her lips trembled. “And then she kissed my forehead. She bled on my ribbon. And she whispered, ‘Wait for the light. Be the light, if it never comes.’” Tears slid down her cheeks. “And then she was gone.”

Fearing the worst, she called a cab and headed directly to the base with Sarah right behind her. Upon getting there she met Ty watching some chaos unfurl a little in front of them. Unlike most werewolf packs in the area that had their hideouts in bars or churches or restaurants, the shadow rock pack had theirs in a sort of neighbourhood. It lent itself well to the family image they depicted all so well. It was right at the edge of town beside a large stream of water.

Sylendra felt being trapped in someone's arms and the warmth of one's body when her body collided with something backwards, the mattress was what it felt like. "What kind of joke is this!" She shouted in protest. Feeling one's heavy weight on top of her she choked out with her deep voice with disgust, absolutely sounding angry. Trying her whole might to push the force back away from her she then heard the unknown person, growling deeply above her which kind of terrified her will. The person was a man plus his voice sounded quite familiar... way too familiar! "Who are you?" Sylendra questioned fearing her guess to be true but before the man could have answered her, the lights suddenly turned

Wolves were running all over, and then she got a mindlink. "The Shadow Howlers are here, and it looks like they came to fight," Her dad said in the mindlink to the pack. Why would The Shadow Howlers come to their pack? They were the pack that basically policed other packs, but The Last Moon Pack hadn't done anything wrong. In fact, they were so vanilla that Bianca hoped her mate would take her away. She picked Trisha up and ran toward the pack house. They got to the front porch just as the warriors arrived.
