” Shadow said, as he laid back allowing Shaid to continue to claw at his chest as she screamed. Shadow, knew he was about to die as soon as Shawna's heart completely stopped. Before Shaid ripped them apart her heart was beating so slow he knew it was going to stop soon. So why fight Shaid any longer, death was inevitable. He welcomed the pain, it didn't hurt as much as the pain he and Rane felt from losing Shawna before he told her he loved her. The pain of not being able to tell her how sorry he was for wasting so much time.

It spoke in her voice: “You think love saves everything. But what of envy, grief, and anger? You cast them away.” Liora backed away, shaking. “They destroy.” “They belong,” the shadow hissed. “They are the roots of compassion. Without them, warmth becomes pride.” Her pendant flared — gold clashing against crimson. She saw her past clearly: every wound she had refused to feel, every loss she had buried in duty. She whispered, “Then let me feel it now.” The shadow smiled and reached for her hand. Their palms touched — and the world exploded with color. ---

Her smile, laced with blood, looked haunting. A Haunt swept in, scattering the cash and gold bars from the car. Sparks flew, and the flames roared to life with a loud whoosh. I pulled a gold bar from my pocket. "Hear me, infant spirits, it's time for our final showdown!" The winds howled as I watched my mom wail in despair. Her tears were for her wealth, not a shred of worry for me. I spun around and plunged into the swirling darkness without a second thought.

I clear my voice and took a deep breath as I mentally prepare myself to read this monstrosity. ’I love you. I know for a fact that I will never be able to understand why you question how much I do... But you have given me something I’ve never had. And that’s my shadow. Love isn’t selfless, sweet, or innocent. Love is dark, selfish, and passionate. And I wouldn’t have known what love genuinely was without you. Love is a dangerous drug with intoxicating feelings as side effects. You may think being my shadow is terrible, but what is light without its darkness? What’s a life without the inevitable death? You must realize how much you mean to me, right? I even made this sappy speech for you. But

Suddenly, my hands started shaking and the plates I was holding fell on the floor and shattered into pieces. I forcefully opened the door so I could help myself upstairs but suddenly fell on something. I lay down screaming in pain but no one was coming to my rescue. I turned around to try getting hold of something I could stand with when my hand suddenly hit a glass and everything shattered into pieces on me and pierced through my skin. A few seconds later, I felt the omegas gathering around but no one dared to offer me a helping hand as they would be severely punished. I was still struggling to get up when I heard a familiar voice screaming my name.

At last, Shane looked pleased. He adjusted the blanket around me with a gentle touch and murmured, "I'll be right outside. If you're not feeling well, just call out for me." They were glowing so bright people shielded their faces. "This is for everyone who died!" I screamed. "For Thomas! For Marcus! For everyone you've taken from us!" I released everything. Light exploded from me. Blinding. Burning. Pure and devastating. It swept across the battlefield like a tidal wave,shadow wielders screamed. Their darkness dissolved bodies fell. The light didn't stop. It kept going, consuming everything shadow-touched. Pain tore through me. Miriam was right. It felt like being ripped apart from the inside. Every cell burning. Every nerve screaming.

Willow grabbed her phone and typed back furiously. As the bubbling water spilled over from the pot, Willow knocked it off the stove in a panic. Immediately, a sharp, burning pain shot through her foot.
