Antonio's muscles stretched with anger, "Name him, King." I looked into my Beta's blue glowing eyes before answering, "Daniel Hunter." He was taken aback by the revelation, "Daniel Hunter? The one who belongs to the Hunter family of the UK?" I nodded my head in slow motion, "Yes, the same Hunter family who is known about their history of hunting the supernatural kinds in the name of keeping a fucking balance in the world." Antonio stiffened, "And they are back to hunt more of us. What are your orders?"

Even if this Alpha was disrespectful and didn’t understand my strength I would deal with it to get the information I needed. Clayton looked at me before disclosing, “ You know very well from what that dick at the meeting said that she is part Hunter. Have the balls to say it. “What kind of mother will you be to these pups, Ember? To Caelen, your own? To Rowan, Julian’s boy?” The question hits like a punch. I glance at the boys, my throat tight. “I’ll protect them. Keep them safe. What else is there?” She steps closer, voice low. “It’s more than that. You’re Luna now. These pups carry Nightshade and St. Clair blood—two lines that tore each other apart once. You know the Moon Origin?” I nod, jaw clenching. “Thane Nightshade and Lucas Darkfire. Brothers in arms, wolves who swore to protect humans together. Until Lucas turned, betrayed Thane, tried to wipe us out. It’s old history.”

This was between him and his former brothers. Alone now, the Shadow Knight moved deeper into the petrified woodland. Considering that Hunter was known as a warrior, he was not entirely entitled to be in the social gathering of the Shadow Pack. This happened because Kane had gone rogue—as a vagabond—and never returned until recently when he used the contact of mind link with the sentinels that patrolled the southern part of the forest where Zack had been assaulted. Samantha scowled, crossing her arms as she looked at Hunter. The warrior did his part as a member of the Shadow Pack but no one dared to socialize with him because of what his older brother had done.

I frowned, "Are their any records of his bloodline?" The sentence about 'controlling shadows' had me interested. Jessie and Maya both noticed how much darker it had become in the forest, as if the shadows had gotten bigger. Such a strange remark, but it now made some shred of sense. The Kouritis bloodline was suspected to be able to control the shadows. But why would Kouritis's relatives be anywhere near our pack? Vampire's didn't meddle in human affairs, and we didn't meddle in their feeding habits. It was a silent coexistence. "There was at one point."
