Chapter 1 – Shattered Brielle pulled her little white Civic into the familiar driveway of the Hale house, tires crunching softly on the gravel. The late-afternoon sun slanted through the oak trees lining the street, turning everything gold and lazy. She hadn’t texted Chloe ahead of time—didn’t feel like it. They’d been best friends since middle school; she could just show up. That was the deal. Plus, after the week she’d had—midterms, a brutal shift at the coffee shop, and Jake being weirdly distant—she needed her girl. Ice cream, bad reality TV, and Chloe’s dramatic commentary on everything. That was the plan.

Chad became very emotional as he looked at the elixir. He did not expect to consume dozens of rebirth elixirs to deal with Marshawn. He won, but it was a bitter victory. Chad was stunned when Willow entered. Willow was clearly injured as she entered with a cane; under Chad's Clairvoyant Eye, her aura was dim, which filled him with sadness. "Didn't I give each of you an elixir?" "I took it, but my injuries were too severe. I barely managed to recover to this state."

"Even?" Chloe laughed, a crazed sound. "You think this is over?" She pulled a black crystal ball from her pocket and crushed it. Instantly, the entire mansion began to shake violently. Countless cracks split the walls, and a swarm of black shadows poured out. They were all the spirits she had enslaved. "I'll tell you the truth!" Chloe shrieked. "This game was never random!" "From the very beginning, this was a cage designed just for you!"

She wanted to go over the edge at the window. "Ok." He pulled away from Chloe and swatted Heather's ass which was still up in the air as she remained where he'd left her quietly watching and playing with herself. "Show her." Heather got up and ran across the room throwing her shoulder into the glass. "It's shatterproof glass. Top of the line guaranteed never to shatter."

Chapter Twelve Shelly was the definition of outrage. Her face was a pure picture of surprise and anger. Why of all times did the witch decide to do this now that she had a freaking chance with Chase. "So uhm...not to interrupt but you're on the verge of destroying your phone." Chase's voice snapped her back to reality and she blushed realizing how stupid she must have looked in front of him. "Uhm...I'm sorry it's not like that it's just uhm..." She looked down fighting the tears that was threatening to spill.

Tyler swallowed his mouthful of eggs and added, “Nalia, Chelsea, Tora, Isolde, and Cheyenne pulled off the impossible. Charlie figured out how each of their Guardian powers worked together, and—poof—evil vamp queen disintegrated.” Rheya’s eyes lit up. “That’s incredible! Gods, I wish I could’ve been there just to see her face when she realized she’d lost.” “Same,” Kensavion muttered. “Bet Cheyenne had something memorable to say.” “Oh, she did,” Tyler smirked. “There were at least three F-bombs, one eye-roll, and some kind of dramatic pose I’m pretty sure she practiced beforehand.” Rheya laughed. “Sounds about right. And how is everyone now?”

Her voice took on a sudden edge, like a razor blade wrapped in silk. Scarlett jumped to Chloe's defense. “Come on, Winter, don't be so pushy. She's had a rough day, and we just got out of the hospital. Let's cut her some slack, huh?” I felt like I'd been smacked in the face with a moldy tuna sandwich. Were those WVH guys really telling the truth? Could they have actually used some kind of mind-warping magic on Chloe? Was I going bonkers again, like I did when we first stumbled upon Casper at his parent's mansion? I mean, it seemed like I was the only one witnessing these crazy events, like a solo audience member at a mind-bending magic show.

Boulder rumbled, his tawny form tackling a wraith, claws raking, the obsidian glow fading, the plateau’s wind howling, the frosted shale trembling, Jasper’s warmth a shield, the Veilshatter Echoes a challenge, the pack’s legacy a song. And her face lit up and then lit down as soon as it came. “That is impossible, my destruction is complete. Cassian doesn’t even remember me… and we couldn’t even destroy her once..” Shana said in her defeated and doubting tone, “I can make you Cassian’s favourite mistress again…” I said and I saw desperation and a hope flashed her eyes.

It was a holy relic, passed down for a thousand years, priceless, and a symbol of the Luna's authority. "Ah!" she screamed as she fell, and the chalice shattered on the ground. Golden shards flew everywhere, and a few of them cut her cheek. When Kaelen rushed over, he saw Cassandra collapsed among the pieces of the broken chalice, with me standing over her. "Estelle!" he roared. "You pushed her and shattered the Goddess's Chalice?!" "I didn't push her." His Alpha command slammed into me, forcing me to my knees on the sharp fragments.
