Shattering Glass

I was beginning to shed tears, couldn't wait any longer. "All the time I cry just because of you, and it doesn't touch you, you don't love me!" I said wiping off my tears with my hands. He took a sip from his glass cup. "You're mine, so it's your body. Why do you resist? Until then, a man has needs" He said confidently. "Because…" I was going to let it all out, tell him what a jerk he is, but I couldn't, he wasn't one to be messed with. Matt hated being disrespected or intimidated in anyway. "You know what… " I sobbed, Cleared my face "I would rather give another man my body!" "I would kill any man that touches you" he said with a light smile. "You wouldn't give me happiness, and you don't want me to get happiness from somewhere else, what kind of a man are you?" "No, Arianne, don't you dare question my authority." I ignored his words. "I'm a woman, I have needs too." "Come live with me, but you won't. I will make you a queen, give you all you want and—" "You mean make me your sex slave?" ....

Rachel Larson was adamant about marrying me, and she spent ten years stealing my heart. On the night before our wedding, I overheard her conversation with her friend. "You're marrying Leonardo? What about your side piece?" A moment of silence later, Rachel answered, "That guy? He's just a cheap replacement. Leonardo's the real deal. Don't compare my side piece to him. He was holding a piece of broken glass against his throat. Gutturally, he roared, "Choose! Me or him?" Panicked, Rachel kicked me away despite my injuries, and she roared, "Get out of the way! I need to take him to the hospital! If anything happens to him, I'll kill you!" She didn't need to wait that long. My heart died right there and then. … That night, I bought a flight ticket that would take me abroad and left her.

I flinched as he smashed the glass with his bare hands after my harsh accusations. With bleeding hands and teary eyes, Lewis looked at me. "I love you Victoria!" "God damn it!" "Why are you the only one that can't see it?" Lewis blurted out in anger and sadness. "Would any guy go this far for a girl he just pities?" "Do you think I brought you all the way here if I wasn't in love with you?" "I love you. I need you." "I can't pretend like I don't care about you anymore", Lewis said in between tears. "I hate how you smile around Kaden, I hate to see you blush around other guys." "Just say you'll be mine Vic." "I know you love me too", He said, while walking towards me and cupped my face with his uninjured hand. He was right. I loved him. Ever since I did his tie back then, I started caring for him. I didn't want to admit that I had fallen for the obnoxious jerk I met back then, but here I was, admitting it. I loved Lewis. I really did. "I..I love you Lewis, so much", I said with my voice breaking as I cried.

There's nothing more shattering than hearing that you're signed off as a collateral to marry in order to clear off your uncle's stupid debts. "So this is it" I pull the hoodie over my head and grab my duffel bag that is already stuffed with all my important stuff that I need for survival. Carefully I jump down my window into the bushes below skillfully. I've done this a lot of times that I've mastered the art of jumping down my window. Today is different though, I'm not coming back here, never! I cannot accept marrying some rich ass junkie. I dust the leaves off my clothe and with feathery steps, I make out of the driveway. A bright headlight of a car points at me making me freeze in my tracks, another car stops and the door of the car opens. There's always only one option, Run!

Luca's expression turned serious. "What's going on, Isabella? You can tell me anything." Isabella took a deep breath before blurting out the truth. "I'm pregnant, Luca." The room fell silent. Luca's eyes widened in shock. Isabella continued, her voice shaking. "And the father... is Vincent Moreno." Luca's face turned grim. "The mafia king?" Isabella nodded, feeling a wave of fear wash over her. She knew what this meant. She knew that she couldn't keep her pregnancy a secret from Vincent. He would stop at nothing to claim his child. Luca's voice brought her back to reality. "You know what this means, don't you? You can't keep this a secret from him. He'll find out, and when he does... "How long can you keep running, Isabella? You can't hide forever." Isabella's jaw set in determination. "As long as I'm alive, Luca. I'll never let him near my child." *** "WHERE IS MY CHILD, ISABELLA?" He thundered, his eyes blazing with fury. Isabella's cup fell from her hands, shattering on the floor. She felt like she was frozen in time, unable to move or speak. The man took a step closer, his eyes fixed on hers. "You've been hiding my child from me for seven years. It's time I took what's mine."
