POV: ACE The second she hit the floor, my heart stopped for what seemed to be like a whole solid minute. I’ve seen girls faint before. Usually, it’s for attention or because they skipped lunch to fit into a dress, but this was different. Vine had literally just crumpled like a puppet with its strings cut right before my eyes. I couldn't even move fast enough to catch her before she hit the ground. "Vine?" I barked, dropping to my knees beside her.

The third shot went into the ceiling, where it started a small war with a plaster cherub. I went low. She slammed the glass down, the impact sending a ripple through the liquid. She hiccuped, the sound escaping unbidden, and waved a hand dismissively. 'Mh, one second,' she said as she tried to come down from the bar stool, her legs unsteady beneath her, the room tilting like a funhouse mirror. She tripped almost reaching down, heels catching on the rung, the floor looming perilously close.

She fell to the ground and used her head to hit the ground. Her breath came out fast and formed little clouds in front of my face. The heart beat as if it were about to pull off her chest. She felt the air leave her lung as if they fell to the ground. Her knee banged against the floor and her head felt a loud thud on the ground. Her sight became blurry and her eyes became blurry and her hand shout out to try and find something to steady me with.

"But—" He shook his head, and she pursed her lips against her protest. She exhaled and slumped as she lowered herself onto her hands and knees. The red fabric threatened to swallow her frame like a bee in the centre of a rose, and she downcasted her gaze to the hardwood floor. "Crawl to me."

Thinking of that, her heart suddenly ached, she hurriedly stood up. It was too late for her to think about her current state. However, her body had no strength left, so she leaned against the bed, and it was difficult to get up. She bit her lip, still struggling to get up, and got out of bed. As soon as her feet hit the ground, the room shook again, and Lisa fell to the floor with her feet soft and caught off guard. Her knees and arms were knocked, and tears welled up in her eyes from the pain.

Fear. Instead… she moaned. A low, throaty, shameless sound. Her eyes rolled back for a second, lids fluttering. I shoved her down hard. She hit the floor on her hands and knees. Her whole body trembled, but not from pain. She laughed again, soft and delighted, like I’d just given her a gift. For one terrified heartbeat I thought: What the fuck is wrong with her? Then she pushed herself up, sat back on her heels, tilted her head, and crawled forward until she was kneeling right in front of me.

she whispered, shaking her head and blowing out some air. She dashed out into the hallway, taking a sharp left turn, only to collide with something solid. The force knocked her off her feet, sending her crashing to the ground. She landed hard on her back, her head hitting the floor with a painful thud. “Ow, ow, ow!” she groaned, grabbing her head and squirming in pain.

She hated her so much knowing that she could never beat Zoe to anything again, when she was once a lady she had always trampled upon in the past. Not minding her insulting words, Zoe proceeded to leave without wanting to have anything to do with her, but Sasha, who could not stand the condescending look she received from a once lowly woman like Zoe, played dirty. With a sly and calculating glint in her eye, she extended her leg ever so slightly, positioning it in a way that would cause Zoe to stumble and fall. Not sensing the impending danger, Zoe stumbled forward, and her hands delved deep into the ground before she fell heavily on her knees, and almost with her face to the ground. It cause
