He walked up the stairs slowly with his gaze settled on the floor, dejectedly. She shut the door behind her as she stepped into the room and her knees crumbled to the floor slowly. She tucked her hair behind her ears as the tears streamed down her face. She recalled the moment he had slapped and pushed her to the floor. Her heart cringed and she curled her arms around her knees fearfully.

“ Yo….you…you!” She fell heavily to the ground as her waist couldn't support her weight any more.

“Fuck all of you!” She dropped to the floor, sobbing till she was out.

She toppled over sideways and landed with a dull thud. “Watch where you’re going!” She grumbled from the floor.

The moment her feet touched the floor, a wave of dizziness hit her and she collapsed. *****************************************

Her arms, weak and trembling, barely held her up before failing entirely. Her legs, unsteady, couldn’t support her as she tried to move. A dizzying rush of exhaustion swept over her, and before she could catch herself, her knees buckled, leading her to the ground. The cold air hit her skin like a slap as she slid from the table, her body crumpling to the floor in a broken heap.

I quickly move out of her way and she falls onto to the floor hitting it with the full weight of her body. I swear it happened in slow motion, I was sure she was going to hit the foot of the bed with her forehead but she didn’t. She caught herself halfway there and decided to fall the other way around. I watch her turn over on the floor looking at me with that evil look on her face.

There was a bucket and a hose near the garden. “On your knees,” she said. I knelt. The ground hurt. My knees were already sore from yesterday. I kept still. “You are lower than everyone here,” she said. “I need you to understand that. I need you to feel it.” I nodded. “Say it.” “I am lower than everyone here.” “Louder.” “I am lower than everyone here.” She watched me for a long moment. Then she walked away. I stayed on my knees. She came back with the bucket. She poured water on the ground. The dirt turned to thick mud.

Her defiance was met with immediate brutality as Kevin's palm struck the left side of her face with an unrelenting force. The resounding slap sent shockwaves through her already weakened body, throwing her off her feet and causing her to crash onto the ground with a painful thud.
