“Strength without control is useless. Now strike.” Steel clashed again and again. The rhythm was sharp and relentless. I watched every movement closely, correcting grips, kicking ankles apart when stances weakened, knocking blades aside when arms grew lazy. “The wolf shifters will hold their form until they feel their bones strain,” I commanded to another group shifting partially, claws extending while remaining upright. “You do not shift to escape pain. You shift to master it.” A growl echoed from one of the younger warriors as he forced himself through the transition. I did not soften.

"Hey, it will be fine. Just so you know, in attendance there will be wolves," "Obviously," I said rolling my eyes. "Vampires, witches, fae, lycans and other shifters." I knew what she meant by other shifters. I love to read. Shifters are humans who possess magic and can shift into objects or animals. Some are even elemental, but that is rare. The second shifter circled around, almost grazing Victor's hip as he hit fur instead and tried to bite into his leg. With a maneuvered slide, the shifter's intended attack got his comrade in the hind leg instead and caused him to lose balance. Victor used the opportunity to slam him into the wall with a loud crack that made him yelp and slump to the floor. The remaining enemy grazed Victor's face this time and jumped back, crouching low so he could get underneath, but Victor knew this move all too well.

I was strongly beginning to contemplate killing him too. “It's not a demon” “Then what is it?” I asked. He waved his hand and it turned into a mermaid. “Anything. It could be anything it wishes to be. Hence the name, shifter” he explained. I stared in awe at it. “Are they dangerous?” He sighed. “Mostly” That got my attention. “Mostly?” I repeated. He nodded. “It depends on what their job is. They are vile creatures that shouldn't be trifled with but they are extremely loyal. It's either they're there to kill or they're there to protect but whatever path they choose…they stick to it” he said.

I tell him, wrapping my legs around his waist to move him closer. "With pleasure, my dear." He slides inside, and I feel a slight pain that quickly goes away. One major benefit of being a shifter is that we actually get to enjoy our first time with less pain than a human woman. He stretches my walls with his massive size, and I clench around him when he stops. The way his eyes glaze over tells me this feels as good to him as it does to me.
