Breeder shifters were treated as second class citizens, but breeder humans were treated as third. Although there are still female shifters in the world and they are procreating causing true mates of be found among and male and female shifters, a recent census was found to show that there were more breeder shifters compared with actual female shifters. It seemed that more male shifters were preferring to not try to find their true mates and just buy a human sex toy to have children with because it was easier.

“And it's true that things got a little… rough, for a minute there. Here are the facts of what happened: “The Shifter was a young male, possibly in his teens. He seems to bear a personal grudge against me for something I'm not aware of having done. At this time, I cannot say whether his anger is directed solely at me, or if it extends to the rest of the Pack as well.” I glanced over at Cillium and was surprised to find him listening intently, watching me. He quickly blinked and looked away; I gave him a smile before continuing, though I wasn't sure if he noticed.

Instead he did a quick score on the intruders face and body. The Shifter male was of middle age, maybe even the same age as Ezekiel himself, but most Shifters aged slowly. So of course age was always a shaky thing to guess. The Male Shifter was wide of chest, muscles and definition made up all of him. He was slim of waist, but he held himself the way that a man did when they were familiar with battle.

Sam is by the Range Rover, yanking on a pair of jeans when we get there. He throws the door to the back seat open for his pack brother, and Jackson climbs in, still holding me. The image of Shifters being dangerous and out of control was ever-present.

"What do you mean?" "You shifted fast. Too fast. Without the usual struggle. And you didn't lose control." "I thought that was good?" She exchanged a look with Kieran. "It's not normal," he said gently. "Even the strongest of us take years to reach that kind of control. You've shifted twice, and already your body obeys without resistance."

They shared a smile, a look of adoration before getting back to the task at hand. “Easy, easy baby girl, we’re at the widest part now. Next push and the egg will be out but don’t rush yourself.” Wolf-shifter’s were not built for eggs and while every effort was made to take the best possible care of the Omega females, things could still go wrong. “She looks a little pale.”

Not panic. Something else. Something far more dangerous. The beginning of a shift.
