"Jessie, why don't you grow out your hair?" Jessamine had cut off her long hair because after giving birth to two children, she had experienced serious hair loss for a while. Seeing the messy hair on the pillow every morning when she woke up bothered her, so she simply decided to cut her hair short. After getting used to having short hair, she found it to be more efficient and easier to manage than long hair. Most importantly, the short hair gave her a different kind of vibe. She changed from being gentle and submissive to becoming more capable and professional, resembling a career woman.

“I still do not know. But she never let me near the kitchen again.” I laughed again. The sound felt strange coming from me while sitting next to him. “That is actually funny. I never thought you could make me laugh.” “See? I can surprise you,” he said softly. “What about you? Any funny stories from when you were young?” I relaxed a little. “When I was ten, I tried to cut my own hair because I wanted to look like a princess. I cut too much on one side. I looked like a broken doll for weeks. My sister laughed so hard she cried.”

Joshua said. "Give me the bad one first, hopefully we will end on a good note." Summer said as she bit her nails. "The bad news is we have to cut your hair to your clavicle, and the good news is you have great facial features for short hair." Summer just stayed silent, I started to worry she was having a stroke. Finally she came around to my front, and pick up a small section to look at the ends. “OH honey. What did you do to this beautiful hair?” Sharon asked as she released my hair. “It….it was all shaved off back in November. Before that I trimmed the ends myself when it needed it.” I explained quietly. “Why would anyone shave of such beautiful hair?” “Pun….punishment.” “They should have their head shaved for such a sin. Do you still do your own trimming?” “Umm. Only if the ends look bad.” “Tsk. No more of that young lady.”

“So, what’s so urgent and discreet that you had to kidnap me here?” She’s grinning even more now, counting her steps from the door as I watch her come in. She starts to twirl her hair around her fingers, making a very curious face as she pouts, “I tried cutting it many times, and each time I did, I broke the scissors, smashed the blades, and shattered the axes.” Wait- what? Axes too?! I give a weak laugh as I entertain her, “Each time I cut it successfully, it grew back thrice its former length. I gave up a long time ago since the children love to fuss about it, and my mate says I look ethereal.”

I said. Briana was jumping with excitement. Briana and I had similar hair, black curls. I had kept my hair shoulder length for years, while Briana had hair down to her back. I can hear muffled conversation around me, but I can’t make anything out through the blinding pain. My head is whipped back and someone has a firm grip on my hair. Snip, snip, snip, snip, before my head falls forward unexpectedly lighter, and freshly cut short, loose strands fall into my eyes and poke at my face. She cut off my hair. What is wrong with her? I’m already beaten to the point of not being recognizable.

Her scalp was burning terribly. "You! You b*tch!" Trishia struggled again against the two women's strength but she didn't succeed. Then just the next second, her hair fell to the ground in bulk. She was stupefied. Her eyes widened seeing her long smooth hair on the ground. Her fists clenched harder as she wanted to smack to death the person who cut her hair. She wiggled hard to escape but still, it was to no avail. The fat woman continued to cut her hair short. Her scissor had no directions. It goes wherever her hand led and she had so much fun doing criss-cross cutting to Trishia's hair.

Our eyes met in the mirror and she looked at me in disbelief as if I was joking. "You have such beautiful long hair. Why do you want to cut them?" Aunt Lucy asked. I sighed. "Just cut them." I said. This time no one said anything and the woman started cutting my hair. She looks like a professional with how her hands were working. My heart hurts while seeing my hair getting shorter and shorter. Half an hour later it was done. I looked at myself in the mirror and at the hairs fallen on the ground. -Goodbye to my past life.-
