The blaze soared high, consuming everything in its path, but we didn’t look back. We scooped Talon up, cradling him on our backs, and spirited away, racing toward Elysium, our hearts pounding with the urgency of our escape.

Mira whined. Damon's body was jerked back when the bullet scratched his arm followed by the sound of it. All men got alert and surrounded them like a shield.
