Should I Date My Neighbor Novels & Stories

Another reason to leave the house when I would rather stay here with Indie. But indie was right, we should do a formal introduction with the other neighbors. Just great.

I just collapsed onto the bed, staring at the ceiling. Just as I was enjoying the quiet, my phone buzzed. I reached for it, and saw that I had a text from Julian. “Hi. Just checking in. Hope you’re okay,” the text read. I stared at it for a long time, chewing my lips as I smiled. Julian was the neighbor I met yesterday. He was kind, he was normal, and he didn't look like he could crush a man’s throat with his bare hands. I had promised to go on a date with him, and the thought of going on a date with someone normal felt great.

" He rubbed the back of his neck as he trailed off. I remember how much he annoyed me after the movie night, talking about some 'we are just neighbors' bullshit. "Good you know" I scoffed. "I don't think I can go on a date with my neighbor again though" I scorned with a betraying smile on my face. Kai noticed what was I doing and took a step closer to me causing me to stagger backwards. Sly bastard. "I think we've gone past the neighbor stage" Obviously... "Okay fine" I gave up trying to play hard. "Give me some time to look for a dress"

His proud smirk resurfaced and I wanted nothing more than wiping it off his smug face. "That's not true." "I think he's right. Agree to his movie night and prove to him you ain't scared of anyone." Where was this going? A new next door neighbor and now I'm invited to a Friday night movie date. "Fine!" I thumped my foot angrily and walked out without sparing him a glance. Why am I acting so dramatic.

I mean if I am going to date strangers I don’t really think I can have the luxury. Ugh, I had some thinking to do!

He stated. “Well don’t worry about me. I am always away. I would probably just be here to sleep. I don’t think I will cross paths so often.” I stated. “I doubt that.” He stated. “But since we are going to be neighbours I would like to invite you for lunch or dinner, whichever is convenient for you.” “I am so sorry. I have something to do. I don’t mean to be rude but I am not interested in being involved with you. I am not going out with you.”

I also know it is not a relationship to end in a day just because we kissed. I should give him time like he requested. It is the right thing to do, but the thought of them together in a place drove me mad, and before I could behave, I asked Nicholas out on a date, out of their togetherness. I haven’t been on a date, let alone a movie date. I have zero knowledge about it, how to get a ticket, or how to choose a good movie. I could browse, but to make it easier and enable me to tell James about everything in one goal, I phoned him up.

“Is this a date?” “Is it?” he teases. Something about my facial expression must have scared him. He shakes his head and words it slowly. “It’s not a date.” Nothing happens after his reply. No pangs of anger or disappointment because I don’t care what he says. It’s a date to me. I edge closer to him as we walk in. The only thing that stops me from slipping my hand into his is the attention we might garner. Plus, some of their servers go to my school. If anyone questions us, it’s easy to pass it off as two stepsiblings hanging out.

I told him. “Yeah. We can go on a date right now. All bills on me. Go to the lovers restaurant over there, I will do the same, we’ll talk to each other over the phone and catch fun. It’s almost like doing the same thing at the same time OVER THE PHONE..” “Publicly!” I interrupted bluntly. “We can't do such when there are people around, they’ll think I am insane. Nah, I don't buy that idea. The similar routine at home is enough. Don't worry, we will catch so much fun when we finally meet” I told him euphorically.

~Emilia’s Point of View~ “You and me could write a bad romance,” I said, singing and moving around my kitchen and swaying my hips. I finally got the nerve to talk to my neighbor yesterday and invited her over for dinner. I couldn’t have been more excited but I needed to play it cool once she got here. I couldn’t seem desperate.
