MAEVE POV Before dinner, I take another swallow from the bottle of potion Eamon made for me. The taste that lingers on my tongue and in my throat is a reminder that I am still alive. And with that potion, my secret is still protected. I do not know what the effects will be if I drink more than I should. Eamon said one bottle is meant to last half a moon cycle. But the pressure in this academy wears it down in less than two days.

"Any specifics I should mention to the maids? Or you're good with just about anything?" The wizard was already raising himself from the chair. "A hot bowl of lamb broth will be fine." Kayden replied. "I need something strong to drink. Maybe whiskey." "Add bread to the lamb broth for me. The drink is fine by me as well." The lycan king put in. "Are you sure you're supposed to be drinking something that strong?" the wizard made his obvious emphasis on 'that'.

Most of them glowed, supplying an eerie ambiance to the room. “The potion storage?” My brows shot up. “Yup.” He stepped closer to one of the shelves and browsed through the contents. “Hmmm. We could make the food grow hair and run around.” I sputtered a laugh. “Can we do that?” “You bet,” he replied. “Or, we could make everyone puke rainbows.” He pulled a face. “Not sure about giving everyone measles.” “Oh?” He glanced at me. “It’s contagious, even when it’s through a potion.”

I ask incredulously as my slow brain realises that the lack of mess means someone cleaned up. “I hate mess,” he says with distaste. I chuckle and quickly clutch my head, “Ugh, my head. I’m never drinking again,” I vow. Lemuel snorts, “That’s what they all say.” He reaches over and grabs a bowl from the tray beside the bed and holds it out for me as he takes the glass of water from my hand, “Eat this. It’s great for hangovers.” I curiously take the bowl and look into it, “Porridge?” I ask in surprise.

I walk closer to the shelf, taking another whiff of the potion to confirm my suspicion. It is the same potion that Max was holding, but why was it in mom’s medicine box? Something doesn't fit, right? “What happens if the potion is consumed by a human?”I voice my thoughts, unable to put together anything in my mind. Maybe it has some benefits for humans. My ears perk up to not miss a single beat of his words. “Well, if a human consumes the potion, it will work as a hallucination concoction slowly leading to degrading health of the person.”, I tilt my head, looking at the healer.

She would not be mocked any more. “I am not them. This will have a very different effect on me.” “Drink it. Since you are so advanced and know better than I. Drink it and show me you know how to reverse it if they drink it and it goes wrong.” Varla stared at her and seemed like she was shaking angrily. “What fool drinks a potion before it is finished?” Varla snapped.

Finally out of daze, I asked, “Will you be able to help? He is already in great suffering and he won’t do the other solution even if it kills him.” Lucas waved his hand. “Oh, no worries. It's an easy one. Actually, you’re in luck. You won’t even need to wait for me to make one. I still have a contrasting potion for Amare left in my cabinet. As sad as it is, Amare potion is quite popular in the Wizard industry and commonly causes chaos.” “Oh, thank you. Really, I wouldn’t have known what else to do.” Lucas stood and walked to the end of the cabin. He stopped in front of the wall with lock runes engraved on it and touched it with his palm.

"Alright, music major. Help me out. Which punch is actually drinkable and won't kill my tastebuds?" ​Dom looked down at the bowls, then back at me, a highly critical look on his face. "The red one is basically sugar-flavored battery acid. The yellow one actually has real fruit in it, but Sam sneaked some ridiculously strong dark rum into it about ten minutes ago. Drink at your own risk."

I had not told her that I was seeing and hearing Damien. "don't look like that. Elijah keeps me informed about what goes on in this place. Now drink." she said and watched me as I brought the vial to my lips, and drank from its content. It took a lot of self-control to not spit it all out, because it was incredibly bitter. "Ugh, Maren. What did you put inside of it?" I asked , when I was done drinking. "A bit of mushrooms here, some slug there.." she said and my face contorted in disgust.

Meanwhile, at the back of the dormitory, I reappear from a dimensional hole, a vial containing a greenish liquid in my hands. "Blahblah, you will only use the store under my direction, Ara~ my little video game, drink this healing juice and stop training for today~" (I can hear you~) “Why do you think I’m talking out loud?” My power is greater than it has ever been, why should I always stick to weak monsters?
