The Bartered Princess

The Bartered Princess

His eyes were a mixture of brown and green and always speculative when they looked at her. Did he find her wanting or something? Sigurd, her father’s blood brother, was a tall man with red hair turning silvery in places. She caught herself staring at the small, forked beard braids and avoided his pale green eyes after that. His wife, Ruth, was much smaller than he and flanked by their twin boys, Snorri and Egil. Being Beyla, she had to ask, in Norse: “Do you have Vercian middle names? Mine is Amber.”

Unwanted Mate

Unwanted Mate

Before I can truly appreciate the miracle before me, Ursula and Sigrid join us at the table. As if she is sensing my discomfort, Isla leans into me. Looking at me with a soft smile and eyes still dark with want for Magnus, she asks, “Where are you going?” “We need to seek counsel at the Temple in Kaupang.” “How long will you be gone?” Fear laces her voice and I don’t understand this. “A fortnight, maybe a little longer. We’ll be back before the last night of Harpa.” “Harpa?” Isla asked.

The Kings Captive

The Kings Captive

"I don't know what I would do without you. I owe you a lot. I mean, despite who you are to Sylvester, you still beat the odds and took the risks to come through for me. Thanks, once again" As Sigurd was leaving, I walked him to the door and asked him to stay for dinner. "I'd love to, Vera," he said, "but I really should get going. I have a long journey back to the kingdom, at the same time I need to avoid suspicions, else my movements henceforth might be trailed" I nodded understandingly, but then I had an idea. "Wait, Sigurd," I said. "Why don't you stay for dinner, and then you can tell me all about your journey and what's been going on in the kingdom?"

The Troll Queen's Bride

The Troll Queen's Bride

“Then you pick things up quite well. I too have noticed that. The Laguz rune, my dear.” We wove our helafire and blood magick runes guided under Jarnja’s rune stave to bind and lash the sails, facing westward to that cursed icy land with frozen taiga and white deer – Vidagol, Surtur’s battlefield, land of ice and fire, in order to cross Nastrond. And face the gods and dead. I shivered, then tied my snow sealskin jacket tighter. “Let’s go to the captain’s quarters and spar, my Jarnja. Anything to get my mind off these wicked wastes.

Ulfgar Ungart: The Lost Dwarf

Ulfgar Ungart: The Lost Dwarf

My brother. He had found me despite my best efforts to disappear without him knowing. My father may be convinced that I was dead. But Ultnar knew. He heard rumors of a dwarf being brought back from the dead shortly after I had “died” and he knew it was me. He had narrowly found me at Yana’s. She lost her home and her business when he found out she was hiding me. He burnt them to the ground to set an example to the surrounding healers, of what would happen when they went against the wishes of a Head clan member.

A DRAGON TALE

A DRAGON TALE

He moved away from her, “You are indeed a wise woman Sarah” She heaved a sigh of relief, as she walked towards the table where she had placed his food, “So my Lord I suggest you do not bother over trivial matters as such, you entered Islandia once before you can it again…”, she poured a glass of wine and sipped. She had her back to him. “Indeed, I am Lord Votigern after all…”, he was beaming with smiles.

The Forgotten - Book One of the Chronicles of Faynon

Sigwulf grabbed the laundry bag and shoved it at Astrid. “Take this, now follow me and keep up.” Sigwulf began to move and looked behind him to see Astrid standing there in shock. He quickly followed her gaze and saw three barbarians in fur clothing forcing a terrified young girl, of maybe 12 years old, to the ground. He heard a familiar shout and saw Vance decapitate the man who was on top of the struggling girl as another approached him from behind. Astrid forgotten and his sword in his hands, Sigwulf began to run towards Vance.

The Pack's Rebels

“This isn’t what it looks like.” “I know precisely what it is,” Sigrid replied wearily. “You are trouble, Harithen of Greibron. Trouble for your people, and trouble for ours. Get dressed,” she threw a bundle of cloth onto the bed. “Quickly now.” “Sigrid is here to help you to get safely back to your tent,” Thaelen reassured the startled human as he rose from the bed and began to dress, regretting that he would not have the opportunity to wash the sweat, oil and cum from his skin.

Auden’s Blessing

Auden’s Blessing

assistant"> Not long afterward, Loki’s mother once again arranged a marriage for him. This time, the bride was Sigyn—a tall giantess with red hair, much like Loki himself. Surprisingly, Loki made no attempt to resist. He simply returned to Jotunheim and married his new wife. A few days later, Odin held a grand ceremony to send Freyr and Freyja to the Vanir. On that day, Hod—who had never drunk alcohol before—quietly slipped into the crowd and gloomily downed a cup of wine. Without any transition at all, he became drunk almost immediately. While everyone else stood upright and composed, his thin figure swaying back and forth stood out conspicuously.

Berserker

Berserker

The crowd parted for her as she led the way to her father at the head of the long wooden table. Magnus looked up with a large joint of mutton in his meaty hand. His blond eyebrows rose when he saw the man Sigurd hauled along by an arm. He scrutinized him from head to foot before speaking. His steely eyes drifted to Sigurd. "What have you brought me, Skald?" Brand watched the woman's lips tighten as the Chieftain's gaze skipped dismissively over her. She answered, however, before the giant could speak. "We found him on the beach, Faðir (Father). He says he is from Clan Sköll."
