Bleeding. SILENCE

The earth slammed shut. Silence.

He was talking about the Silence itself. ​Kael stood in the center of the glass plaza as the black shadow of the Siphon began to descend, turning the blue sky into a starless void. He didn't fight the silence. He Inhabited it. ​He used his eighty years of "Muted" training to create a "Vacuum of Sound" around the city. He sucked the resonance out of the air, creating a "Dead-Zone" that the Siphon’s sensors couldn't see. ​For the Siphon, the city simply disappeared.

The "Silence" wasn't aliens. It wasn't a rogue god from the machine. It was a mirror. "Hypocrites," Alex spits, watching the news feed in the safehouse. "The Human Purity League. They preach biological supremacy, but they built a digital weapon to silence us." The "Silence" attack at the UN was a localized EMP pulse disguised as a signal. It shattered glass and eardrums, but Echo caught it. He buffered the data spike, turning a lethal blow into a deafening noise.

Just silence. And somehow, that silence said everything.

“No backlash. No rallying.” Julian nodded. “Good. Let the silence do the work.” Back in the apartment, Aiden sat at the table long after midnight, fingers laced together. “I don’t know how to fight something that doesn’t push back,” he admitted. Dante rested his hand on the table between them—not touching Aiden, but close enough to anchor him. “You don’t fight silence by yelling into it.” Aiden looked up. “Then how?” “You outlast it,” Dante said. “And you create sound elsewhere.”

Silence crashes down. Because that wasn’t dismissal. That was an agreement. And agreements like that— don’t end quietly.

Harvey had once told me my muteness was psychological, and that if I could overcome my trauma, I might be able to speak again. We had worked tirelessly toward that goal. Just when I had started making progress, Stephen locked me in a dark basement.

This damn strange sensations I get when I am in his presence is going to drive me insane. “ I will bend you over and spank you until you listen to me and be a good little one,” he whispered in my ear with a deep low husky voice. My bottom lip quivered out of fear because I don’t know if he actually meant it or was just trying to scare me into staying with him. I stayed quiet, not wanting to test that theory.
