When I saw the happy smile on Mom's face, I suddenly felt myself becoming lighter. I gently caressed her smiling, happy face, and I silently gave her my best wishes. "Mom, you have to be happy forever!" A crystal-clear tear slid slowly down Mom's cheek and fell into my palm. However, my body soon began to become as transparent as the teardrop itself, until I finally disappeared into the air.

The entire pack hall fell instantly silent. The doors burst open with a bang, and Nolan stormed in, the full weight of the Silverglade Pack’s leadership trailing nervously behind him. She said waving it off. I filled my plate with some eggs, bacon, and a biscuit. I spread some butter and jam on the biscuit as someone came up and filled up a glass with orange juice. "Oh thank you" I mumbled out with a mouth full of food. They just smiled and walked back into the kitchen. "So I have something to share" Lorenzo said breaking the comfortable silence. "Our mind link earlier Tony, she can hear it" He said pushing a thumb in my direction. Tony looked at me with a blank stare. "Is this true?" He asked. "Yeah" I said. His eyes glazed over and so did Mateo's. Purple chicken I heard Tony's voice say.

On this silent night, I can hear my silent cries the loudest. 🔸🔸🔸

The drive over to the apartment was filled with an uncomfortable silence. Unasked questions hung in the air like a thick fog. Beads of sweat prickled on the back of the drivers neck as he too was smothered by the tension in the car. The seconds felt like minutes as the road seemed to stretch longer and longer before her eyes. Letting her eyes close, Thea suppressed a sigh as she leant her head against the window, she ignored the drumming of her head against the window as they drove over the bumpy terrain. Bellamy’s words playing on repeat in her head, ‘like our souls recognise each other’.

Please. And then, just cold. Just silence.
