Always watching. The scribe cleared his throat. “You may begin.” Xavier stepped forward. His legs didn’t want to move. He felt like he was walking into water. Thick, dark water that dragged at his knees. He picked up the quill. His hand shook. Just slightly. He forced it still. First name. Family name. Pack bloodline. He signed. The ink bled slowly into the parchment, permanent and irrevocable. Then he stepped back. The scribe nodded. “And now the bride.”

“What happened to you? “You used to cling to me every chance you got. You were the Gamma warrior everyone admired. Now you can’t even heal? “Stop faking. Your acting is pathetic.” But I wasn’t faking. I stared at his certain face. Bitterness rose like bile in my throat until I could hardly breathe. In Silver Prison, Daniel had been my only hope. His name was the only word I whispered like a prayer, day after day, waiting for him to come like a hero. However, the mind link between us had been cut, and no one came to save me. I’d been forgotten in hell.

I asked her. “She was my first stop, she can’t stop smiling like an idiot either,” she said and walked away. ‘May I see my son?’ Onyx asked me in my head. I was feeling slightly guilty that I’d ignored him this whole time. ‘Of course,’ I said, and I felt him push forward. He looked at Jericho through my eyes and I saw him open his hands as the same blue and gray flames enveloped him. I was too shocked to even breathe and Onyx gave a growl of satisfaction.

"You did what Draco?!" James voice boomed across the office and outside, making his staff peer their heads and strain their ears to know what's going on. "He had to be put out" Draco responded nonchalantly, "first they start asking questions, then their willpower becomes strong. Instead of channeling their strength and doggedness to other things, they become detectives, poking their nose into people's business" he drew a length of smoke from the cigar and blew it into the air.

When I walked in, everyone ceased their conversations and looked at me. "Oh, I didn't expect everyone to be here." I said under my breath. "Oh, sorry dear. I thought it would be wise to invite everyone to this special meeting." Fiona shifted excitedly side to side, waiting for what I was going to say. I took a deep breath before I spoke. "OK, everyone. As you know, me and Sebastian are here for his, self cleansing proces-" "Playboy Rehab." Sebastian interrupted, popping a cheez-it into his mouth.

“I fucking know that, Grandpa!” His gun pointed at me in an instant, and my eyes widened in shock as I raised my hands, my jaws clenching as I watched his eyes narrowed into restrained anger. “Language, Kian. I've always mentioned this to you. I know we're family but this is business too. Our business. We can't have enemies spotting weaknesses like these in our defense walls. That's what makes us Silvers. We put family first. Is that clear, Kian Silver?” I'd suddenly forgotten how scary he was whenever things got non-trivial like this.

“Show me what you found.” Victor plugged in the laptop, fingers dancing a tremor across the keys. The screen flickered to life, passworded and encrypted six ways to hell. He unlocked a folder labeled “Silverlining” and spun the device so I could see. “You said you wanted proof, Alpha. That’s what I got.” “Run it.” He double-clicked the first file. Grant hovered behind me, tension radiating off him like heat.

“So your tongue thinks my she-wolf should just forgive his manipulation?” “No. No way. That play is setting a bad precedent that your future doesn't want to set with an alpha. But maybe let your feet wait and see what happens next in the territory. Make his high title work hard for your favor. Make his pride grovel in the dirt.” She considers the text for a brief beat. “Yeah, make his frame really grovel. Make his hands get that big fat Thornridge Dominion pack resource checkbook out and buy your life expensive stuff.” My throat lets out a real laugh for the first time since my boots arrived at her loft, and the sound feels totally foreign to my ears, like my lips haven't laughed in ages, ev

"It's a hard-coded kill switch, sir! As soon as the main power line failed, an internal capacitor began a three-minute shred routine!" “I don't care what it is; save the transaction ledger!” I said, grabbing Devlin by the collar of his jacket and pulling him within inches of my face, my eyes filled with deadly intent. "That ledger shows she didn't sell the core framework four years ago! It shows who bought those shares! Save it!" "I'm trying! I'm trying!" Devlin shouted, his fingers racing across the mechanical keys frantically and dazzlingly. "The master encryption key is held in a secondary hardware token! Without the physical bypass key, the whole drive will destroy its own flash memory i
