"Look." I look. The hunters have stopped advancing. They stand in a loose circle around the shattered remains of their brothers. Their hollow faces tilt upward. Toward the sky. Toward the moon. The moon was a bruised, heavy crimson, hanging over the Silver Moon Pack like a warning. For most, the Blood Moon was a night of sacred celebration, the time when fated bonds were finally revealed and the future of the pack was secured. The Red Moon seemed even bigger than before after she was gone, almost as though she had disappeared into it or something like that, it’s size and luminance catching their attention. They watched, mesmerised as the giant ball of light suddenly began to change colour. Gradually and gradually, it went back to its normal ivory colour and then everything else was restored. Kendra and Killian sank into each other in immense relief. They had done it. They had made it through the Red Moon.

A phenomenon only visible at least four times a year which leaves us with a great opportunity to ask the Moon goddess’s blessing.
