A riddle appeared on a stone plaque by the pool: "By day it sleeps, by night it soars, Silent as the moon, it holds the core. Speak its name to calm the tide, And through the maze, you may glide." Nikolai and I pondered the riddle, our eyes scanning the area for any hints. After a few moments, a soft voice echoed through the trees. “The answer is the owl,” it said. “Speak the name, and the way will be shown.” Following the guidance, I called out, “Owl!” At that instant, the water in the pool began to bubble, and a hidden pathway emerged, leading us further into the garden.

Charged. We stepped into a circular chamber. No windows. No banners. No throne. Just walls. And those walls were covered in carvings. Wolves. Moons. Crowns. Ruins. “This room,” Maelis said softly, “is where the Moon learned to lie.” I stopped walking. “That’s not possible,” I said immediately. The answer felt automatic. “The Moon is…” “Holy?” she finished. “Pure? Eternal?” She looked at me steadily. “That’s the version that survived.”

I will do the stupid Hide and Go Seek in the woods. ‘Thank you. And Sugar?’ “Yeah?’ ‘Whatever happens during the ritual, don’t run and don’t fight me.’ ‘Excuse me?’ He doesn’t answer. I pace my room. The once full blood moon is starting to become a waning gibbous. I always preferred a waxing gibbous. My chest is tight and it feels as if something is trying to claw its way out. I look away from the window and instead sit on my bed and stare at the ceiling. I barely slept because of the strange feeling.

Eve breathed in the fresh air, she was exhausted after their run. She watched a black wolf keep running circles around her, it came to her and playfully nipped at her shoulder. She laughed as she pushed it away. The black wolf disappeared behind a tree and some minutes later, her best friend Jude appeared. He sat beside her, "What are you thinking about?" he asked her. "about tonight" "The red moon ceremony" he said softly. The red moon ceremony was to celebrate the red moon which came out once a year. And most importantly, the finding of mates.

Kira caught it and tucked it behind her ear. As the sun set, all the moons came out one by one. Big ones. Small ones. Red ones. Silver ones. Pink ones. Blue ones. Hundreds of lights scattered across the dark sky like diamonds. Hope pointed up with wonder. “Mama, why are there so many moons? Grandma said there used to be only one.” Luna picked her up and held her close, breathing in her baby scent. Looked at Damian. At Valen. At Elena. At Kira. At all the wolves running free below without chains.

This man was not a kind man who gives his Luna what she wants to make her happy. This man is a snake in the grass who relies on both honey and vinegar to take anything and everything he wants. Right now he wants me, and vinegar has yet to work... of course. Well... I have my pups back, and that's all that matters, so I practically throw myself at him, shoving our lips together and pushing my feelings of gratitude into the bond. I was letting him know how much this meant to me. I let Rerin, his wolf, purr in my head as long as he wanted to before finally pulling away.

It was a phrase in a language long forgotten, a clue that held the key to unraveling the family secret. "The path lies beneath the moonlit sky," I read aloud, the words resonating deep within me. "We must follow the moon's guidance to uncover the next piece of the puzzle." Excitement surged through our veins as we left the chamber, embarking on a new quest under the light of the moon. Each night, we ventured to different locations, guided by the moon's luminous glow. It led us to ancient ruins, hidden caves, and sacred landmarks, each holding a piece of the truth we sought.

She didn’t know about that. “She…” Her mother’s breath hitched, “she tied him to the moon. Just him though. He won’t be able to roam the earth as a human for two weeks straight. He would be trapped in his wolf form, with no hold on his humanity, for every first two weeks of the month” A breath of relief left Shirley in a rush. Relief that at least he was not without his suffering. Werewolves took pride in their strength as wolves. Not being able to access and control that form when they wanted had to be a nightmare, innit?

Her laughter was unexpected, and it was unclear to me what prompted her amusement. Her laughter stopped, and she looked at me with a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Ani, you underestimate the depth of your abilities as a Moon Whisperer," she said, her tone filled with confidence. "The moon's presence doesn't solely determine the extent of your powers." Riabhel chimed in, "She's right, my dear. Your connection to the Moon is not limited to its physical appearance in the sky. It runs deeper, you can tap into it regardless of whether the moon is visible or not, so come on, let's try it."

Lorn smiled at his pack members. He knew they would figure it out, but he wanted to see if they had an inkling of who the other packs were, "Elder Roe, would you know who these two packs would be?" The older man looked puzzled and stated, "I have been pondering upon it but I can think of no two packs that live that close together and are of the moon. I know of one a few days from here of the moon but no other that close of the moon."
