After a moment, Maddox shook his head vigorously, crouched down and said with a smile, "Krish? May I call you Mr. Krish?" Krish said politely, "You can just call me Krish." "Oh, okay. Would you like some candy?" Maddox pulled out a packet of Skittles from his coat pocket. These were the ones he usually used to coax Essel. Krish, however, shook his head. "Thanks, Maddox. I don't eat candy." Maddox froze for two seconds, shook his head, and gave the Skittles to Valeria. Valeria didn't usually like candy either, but she took it anyway, and put it in her pocket.

He says. "You're very ugly when you move in to kiss me." I say, mocking his tone. "Sure." He says, peppering my face with kisses. I laugh and pull him down for one more kiss. "Let's try the arcade." He says, grabbing my hand. I look around at the games, and gasp when I see a claw machine. "I'm winning us some stuffed animals." I say excitedly. I swipe my card, and aim to get Griff. Why? He's your least favorite out of the three... It's for Sylvester... That's his favorite character, after I forced him to watch it with me.

Jack walked up to his desk and immediately turned on his computer. After entering his password and fingerprint, the computer did not start up as usual, but instead went black. He furrowed his brows, feeling a sense of foreboding. Just as he was about to shut down and restart the computer, several animated characters suddenly appeared on the screen. Richard sometimes watched cartoons, and Jack had seen them occasionally when he visited his old home. He recognized the characters as Peppa Pig and her family.

I told you I’m not going to the shop.” Skyler started to pout, but Carter reached for his luggage and pulled out a couple of bags, offering them to my brothers. “I didn’t know what kind of sweets you guys like so I bought all of my favorites. You should have Skittles in there because it is my utmost favorite .” Everyone took a bag except Ollie who ran behind me, peeking at Carter from behind my legs. He was always shy around strangers. “You shouldn’t have bought them so many things. They already have more than enough.” I said, watching Carter shake his head.

An urge to throw the little Milky Way bar into the fire overtook me and I did. It disappeared as soon as it reached the flames. Then I tossed in some Skittles… that made me mad. I liked Skittles. A breeze wrapped around me. It was friendly, not a natural wind. I could almost hear a voice telling me to state my name and species.

Beth, Charlene, and ReNew entered with snacks in hand—each holding their own mini popcorn bucket, Red Vines, cheesy nachos, pretzel bites, and Thermos cups filled with colorful slushies they called ‘Realm ice. “Here you go, Pop!” Beth passed him his favorites—extra cheese popcorn and a glass bottle of ice-cold Coke.
