Selena’s P.O.V. “I hope we haven’t missed something.” As we hear Zoe’s voice coming from the hallway, all eyes turn toward the door. Sky and Zoe step inside, looking slightly winded but as joyful as ever. In Sky’s arms is their two-year-old troublemaker, Zeke, wearing his mischievous smile. His eyes are already scanning the room like he’s plotting which object to throw first. That boy is adorable chaos. “No, you haven’t missed anything,” James says, standing. “But where were you two?”

Cerise thinks, Desperate to see her only star among the red, dark sky. The morning comes, and the sky remains blood-colored. Joy-I weeps like a child, far from the mature image she always puts on. Yzander and the doctor stood at the corner, as suspicious as ever. Halo and Nicholas struggle to keep sleeping, as the murmurs and crying stop them from doing so.

Little Osiris is huddled in his mother's arms, trying to hide his little face from the angry mob threatening to kill them. "I tell you what," the Alpha finally smirks. "I will give you a head start." Skye doesn't need to be told twice. She takes off, running toward the forest. As she runs, her body morphs and shifts. I try to keep up with her, but she is too fast. The last I see is a golden lycan running away from the mob. Osiris's little face is peering over her shoulder, watching his home fade into the distance.
