Then, the sky rumbled. Rana dashed to a tall tree with a wide trunk to find shade from the falling rain. The fight ensued on the ground. More guards came to the ground to fight Shane, Ethos, and Helios. All the three young men were covered in their cloaks. Ethos wore a dark blue cloak while Helios wore a black cloak. Mud and water splashed on the ground as they raised their swords against the army of guards who had joined in the fight. Rainwater soaked them.

"We've all pored over your papers. Working with you is truly an honor for us." The seasoned leader greeted us with a warm smile. "Meet Sunny Kane, your junior colleague. She's now an integral part of our research team." I took a moment to really look at the girl with the infectious smile. Her slightly oversized white lab coat could not mask the vibrant energy she radiated. I said offhandedly, "You seem pretty familiar with me." Sunny's smile did not waver, and her presence was instantly comforting. "The leader often talks about you. He says you're the most gifted student he's ever had."

Chapter One: A New Beginning Aqua’s heart raced as she walked through the imposing iron gates of Crestwood High. Another town, another school, another chance to start over—if only it were that simple. At 5'10", her presence commanded attention, but she preferred to stay unnoticed. Her dark skin glowed under the morning sun, and her eyes, a striking shade of amber, held secrets untold. She pulled her hood tighter, hoping to shield herself from the prying eyes she could already feel on her.

, Sky asked while holding Sebastian's hands. "She's fine. Don't worry", Sebastian tried to calm her down but he could sense something was amiss. "Sky! Tell me what happened?", he asked with a heavy heart. "Dad! Elliot!!", Sky again started crying like a madman as she recalled the events. She choked many times on her tears as she tried to tell him everything. Sebastian could feel his heart drowning as he heard the incident from Sky's mouth. "I need to be strong for my family", he told himself as he tried to hold back tears.

The building glowed with red neon, the letters spelling out The Den, half-flickering. Mila parked in the narrow lot behind the club, cutting the engine. “Okay, Princess Foster,” she said, turning toward Sky. “Moment of truth. What are you wearing under that hoodie?” Sky grinned, pulling the zipper down slowly like it was a dramatic movie reveal. The hoodie fell away, and silver light caught every corner of the car. Her dress shimmered like liquid metal. It clung to her curves, tiny sequins catching every flicker of streetlight. It was short…very short and the neckline dipped just enough to make it look expensive.

Kairo said looking at Yara who blushed immediately that made the three laughed again. "Dad!" Dream shouted seeing her father waiting outside their school. "Hi, kitten." Kenzo said then open his arms and hugged her daughter. "Big Bro!" Sky said hugging her brother too. "I missed you." Sky said and Kenzo smiled. "I missed you too little sister." Kenzo said. "Mom told me to tell you that she'll be waiting for you on Friday." Sky said. "Tell her we'll be there. Let's go." Kenzo said. "Oh, I'm not going. I have a meeting with the Science Club. I only want to see you so I went out. See you on Friday." Sky said and went back inside the school. Kenzo and Dream left the place.

She said, clicking her tongue. "Hello," I waved at all of them, "I'm Skye," I said. "I'm sorry if we want to be direct to you but we want to see if what Hilda here said is true. Do you really know healing magic?" Aldrich asked and I nodded my head, holding my hands together in front of me.

“Mom? Who’s this?” Khaisha’s voice comes out small. “Rhys…” His throat bobs. “Khai.” Rhys? ‘Isn’t he the guy Theron wanted to teach you control?’ Scar huffs. ‘I want to say he’s late, but we could still use the help.’ Khaisha clenches her fists. “Sky, go to your room.” Detecting the anger vibrating in her mother’s voice, Sky doesn't argue. She scurries off down the hall, but she throws one last curious glance over her shoulder at the stranger before slamming her bedroom door shut.

“If Winter is so merciless, why has he left Dixon breathing?” “Because Luna Imogen hails from Torrine,” Skye replied, his voice steady but grim. “Her blood buys Dixon time and that is the only chain keeping Dixon’s head on his shoulders. Winter’s claws are sheathed—for now. Dixon wields that leverage like a shield but he dances on the edge of the blade. Oshea wields nothing.”

Little Osiris is huddled in his mother's arms, trying to hide his little face from the angry mob threatening to kill them. "I tell you what," the Alpha finally smirks. "I will give you a head start." Skye doesn't need to be told twice. She takes off, running toward the forest. As she runs, her body morphs and shifts. I try to keep up with her, but she is too fast. The last I see is a golden lycan running away from the mob. Osiris's little face is peering over her shoulder, watching his home fade into the distance.
