Rex (Book 5)

Rex (Book 5)

I closed my eyes, recollecting the memories of watching the news about an escaped convict who preys on the youth and chops their bodies after violating them. "We are they found?" Seth asked. "It was the scariest shit, and it took three days for the cops to find them hidden in the woods, scared." I continued; memories flashed again of my brother and Jordan unconscious behind a bush covered in blood and guts. "They were safe and taken to the hospital. Both were malnourished and dehydrated but are safe." "What happened to the convict?" I look up at Logan, who had experienced something like this with Niana, his ex-girlfriend who was killed by her psycho ex-boyfriend and was released by another p

The Crimson Grimalkin - Book 5

The Crimson Grimalkin - Book 5

TAWNY I wiped the blood and sweat from my brow in an over-exaggerated movement. I was beaten, tired, overwhelmed, exasperated; as many words, as you can find to explain how broken a will and resolve was - I was it. The sun was peaking over the horizon, the red glow in the sky reflecting the blood that drenched the streets of Cambiador. The aftermath of the carnage I stood amongst, was unimaginable. The streets ran red with blood that was slowly being absorbed by the dry dirt. I looked up to Mason, hoisting yet another body over his shoulder and placing it in the bed of the truck, with the others.

Ms. Supernatural
I absolutely love this book, actually, the whole series! I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that this series should not only be published in hardcover but transformed into either an epic movie or miniseries! I would definitely buy DVDs!! You have an amazing imagination and a gift for being an author!

I really enjoyed this series. Many books on this platform have similar stories, which gets boring really fast. This book series kept me entertained the whole time. It had the perfect balance of romance and action. I enjoyed getting to know each character in more detail as each book was added.

Honor in the House of Wolves

Honor in the House of Wolves

He laughed, “There’s another reason I chose here. So open your damn eyes and look around.” I obeyed and didn’t understand. It was dark, overhead was pitchblack and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what was making that shuffling noise above. It sounded like birds. Then there was a bang above as I saw a flash of light before dust started to fall. For a brief moment I saw how high the ceiling was, floor to ceiling thousands of books lined the dark wooden shelves. The shuffling? I swore they were oddly shaped birds, maybe even bats? My eyes tried focusing but it was hopeless, whatever was up there didn’t want me to see it. The dust though, as my eyes were guided down following one speck

The Villainous Emperor is My Pet?

The Villainous Emperor is My Pet?

At that time, I found myself asking many questions that were unnecessary at the moment. Why did the author write such fine details? Did he/she know how much therapy costs these days? Was the author going to pay for my therapy? It was unlikely so. All I wanted was to get out of this horrible book. "Ugh… the bodies." I heard a soldier make a disgusted groan. "The smell." Well, what did he know? I was lying with corpses. It was no rosy scent. The smell had my stomach churning too. But I needed to survive.

House of Horrors Part 1

House of Horrors Part 1

The house seemed to throb with the echoes of screams, the weight of death pressing down on every wall, every shadow. Outside, the truck driver whispered to his assistant, "Where did that madman go?" One of the workers replied, fear thick in his voice, "He seems to be hiding somewhere." They moved cautiously through the fields, swarming over the green crops, eyes scanning every shadow. The truck driver, unseen from above, watched eyes gleaming in the darkness. Slowly, he descended from the roof and re-entered the fields, an axe in hand. In the shadows, the worker got too close. He struck the driver with fatal precision—the axe split the skull, the body shriveled in the soil. One by one, he hu

Dead Husband's Call: Five Years Too Late

Dead Husband's Call: Five Years Too Late

Once it arrived, he stared intently at the sanatorium before climbing into the ambulance and leaving with her. I finally realized that the once proud and confident Adaline was now mentally unstable. I didn't know what she and John had gone through over the past five years. Nevertheless, as I watched that entire scene unfold before me, I couldn't quite put the feeling I had into words. Was it hate? Not really. But had I forgiven them? Nope. Perhaps it would be most apt to describe me as an uninvolved bystander, watching a tragedy that had nothing to do with me. It was sad and a little uncomfortable, but that was all.

Six_K.I. Lynn

Six_K.I. Lynn

I couldn’t leave because we were in a more populated area where my face could be recognized, especially being in the same state as the motel where he killed two people. The beep of the electronic key went off and I sat up, my stomach’s call answered. “They’re coming,” Five said as he stepped in, throwing a few bags onto the table. “Are you sure?” Six asked as he shut the screen and put away the gun he’d been cleaning. In my opinion, he had an unhealthy relationship with his firearms. Five tossed me a bottle of water, then handed me a bag. “No onion, right?” He winked at me. I rolled my eyes. “It’s not like I’m going to be kissing you. Why are you denying me vital nutrients?” Inside the bag w

Frequently Asked Questions

Slaughterhouse-Five' is one of those books where the reviews tell you almost as much about the reader as the novel. A lot of people come for the sci-fi premise—Billy Pilgrim becoming unstuck in time, the Tralfamadorians—and they either embrace the fragmented, non-linear storytelling or they find it frustratingly disjointed. I've seen so many comments saying the book 'made no sense' on a first read, only for them to revisit it later and have it click in a profound way. The emotional core, the 'so it goes' refrain applied to every death, is what truly divides opinion. Some find it a deeply humane acceptance of the inevitable, a way to process trauma, while others misinterpret it as a callous or nihilistic shrug.

You also get a strong contingent of readers focused on its anti-war message. Many reviews, especially from veterans or history buffs, dissect the sheer absurdity and horror of the Dresden firebombing portrayal. They talk about Vonnegut's matter-of-fact tone being more powerful than any graphic description could be. Then there are the literary analysis types who get into the meta-commentary—Vonnegut inserting himself as a character, questioning the very act of writing a war book. The reviews are rarely just a star rating; they're little essays on fate, free will, and how to tell a story about something fundamentally untellable.
