Desperation drove me toward higher ground, clinging to the faint hope of rescue. However, luck wasn’t on my side. Out of nowhere, a massive wave slammed into me, sweeping me off my feet. I crashed into the sea, the icy water flooding my mouth and throat with its salty sting, leaving me gasping for breath. “Don’t freak out. Just stay calm...” I repeated to myself, clawing for control. I tried to swim away from the jagged rocks, but my belly slammed into one, its sharp edge slicing through me like a knife.

Most of it includes accounts of some of the worst battles; ones where too many lives were lost. I’m surprised both Shifters and Wyres have survived any of it.

I picked a beach that had showers to rinse off before going home. Natalia was admiring the waves crashing against the shore. The sound was deafening even though the waves weren't really high enough to even surf. Though as usual, there were a few people out there trying it. There was a different beach entrance further along that had better waves for that. Boats in the distance made for a pretty picture and she was taking plenty. Seagulls screeched overhead. Some landed and people fed them Doritos even though it was against the law. They were probably tourists, although that is most likely a law everywhere these days. People food was not good for birds, or any type of animal.

I also dreamed of myself being eaten up by zombies. One day, the military head came to me. He said, "The satellite's been destroyed." I looked at him, trembling so much that I couldn't speak. He asked, "When will the zombie wave come?" "In 30 days. They'll come in the morning," I said. I didn't know how he explained this to his men, but fighter jets left the safe zone the following morning. Later, dozens of fighter jets came and went. There were vague sounds of explosions within the safe zone.

I placed the report folder on the desk, took off my lab coat, and collapsed into the chair with a long sigh. I gently massaged my temples. The day had passed too quickly. I glanced at the wall clock, its hands ticking away without regard for how heavy the day had just been. Time seemed to dance out of reach, leaving exhaustion and silently slipping in a feeling of emptiness that was hard to explain. I opened a small bottle of water on my desk, sipping it slowly. My dry throat felt a bit relieved. Then, I glanced at the chocolate package and the little book from Sean that still lay in the corner of the desk. I hadn’t had the chance to touch it since earlier.

"They won't hit someone who is mentally unstable. I've seen and dealt with situation that concerns someone who isn't in their right mind. They will most likely lock them up and wait for them to be rescued. So, don't worry, they won't hurt her." Terry knew these kinds of situations, and we all must trust her. After the fire, everyone set up camps on the beach. My stomach growls. I touched my stomach and groaned. "Hungry?" I look up and see Ares standing before me, holding a stack of bananas as he hands me one. "Thanks," I smile wryly and take the fruit. I peeled the skin and ate it immediately to fill my empty stomach. Ares sits next to me on the log and stuffs his face.

Flipping the pages of the large book, I looked through each detail I could find. All though the first book Prince Victor had shown me was larger with more pages, the one he just showed me now seemed to have a few raw facts about the land beyond the five Kingdoms. One of the very first facts I found was the scariest thing I could ever find. It seems many have tried to travel beyond the five Kingdoms but too little have survived. And the survivors said that the waves of the sea had been the biggest monster of them all.

Save us and our future. The world we lived in was ruled by wolf laws, and they said that there was no enemy that could not be overwhelmed. And the question was not even how much time Grisha had, but how much time I had to do it.
