Grandma came back into the room. I leaned my head gently against her back, just like I had as a child. The familiar scent of her soap and lotion filled me with comfort. I wished this moment could stretch on forever. She put on her reading glasses and carefully lifted an old box from under the bed. She opened it slowly, revealing three parcels swaddled in faded floral cloth.

Let's just ignore these two. They're garbage. They're not worth it," I begged. "Mom, I'm begging you, don't do anything reckless." My heart raced, my desperation rising like a tide I couldn't hold back. But then, to my shock, Mom let out a bitter laugh. Without warning, she lunged at Denise, grabbing her hair in a vicious grip. Mom's voice was like ice as she snarled, "Denise, if I'm so evil, then let's go to hell together."

Haley returned to the Martínez family, soaking wet. Todd, who had been waiting at the door, quickly stood up, "Mommy, what happened? Why are you wet?" When I rushed out , I found out that mom had taken the stairs to the living room and there she was seated with a glass and some hard gin inside . My mom was taking what she had seen so hard . I know that I hate my mom so much but not up till this level I never thought that I would hate her this much , I never thought about it in any way . I was about to say something but my mom raised up her finger indicating that I kept shut as she glumped down the drink in the glass . For the next 5 minutes , we both stood there opposite each other , my heart racing fast and my mom glumping down everything that she saw .

Once again, she tried to steer the crowd's attention back to me. She was ready to burn everything down, but I didn't care. When Mom realized I wasn't reacting, she had no idea how to continue her performance. Once the two of them were finished with their little duet, I spoke up calmly, "I think that's my line, Mom." I connected my phone to the massive screen in the lobby to play the footage of Ellie and Mom's conversation by the gates that day. The camera clearly captured their unusually bloated faces. When Mom saw herself on the screen, her complexion drained instantly.

She banged on my door, yelling, "Irene, are you a pig? The toilet's just right there! Do you not have legs? How could you poop in your room? "You're seriously beyond help! Did you seriously have to do something so embarrassing just to spite me?" I remembered that when I was little, I once had acute gastroenteritis and couldn't make it to the bathroom in time, so I ended up soiling my pants. Mom didn't help me clean up. Rather, she made me stand in the yard and told the neighbors that I was as dirty as a pig. Now, she thought I was dirty again. Mom waved her hand in disgust like she was shooing a fly. "Leave her! Let her stay in that stench and choke on it!"
