And I’ve always wanted to see Old Orleans College. I confess, I grew up re-watching episodes of Old Orleans Glee Club.”

Avery was cooped up at the library at Avonsville University after having dinner on campus. A sudden cheer made her look up from her book. "It's snowing! It's the first snow of the year! Look, it's getting heavier! Let's go out and play!" "Sure! I want to take some pictures!" … Half of the people in the library left. Avery walked over to the window and looked out at the snow gracefully fluttering down from the sky.

Tonight the nor'easter settles the question of what I am doing with my evening by driving everyone indoors. Snow slaps against the tall Gothic windows of Sterling Memorial Library with the specific fury that belongs in a weather advisory, not a Tuesday night. The wind finds the ancient stone buttresses outside and turns them into something close to an instrument, a low moan that moves through the vaulted reading rooms and settles in the chest. Even the librarians at the front desk keep glancing toward the doors, as if expecting the storm itself to walk in and demand a card. I only came to return an overdue text.

the librarian finally voiced his annoyance at us, but the two of us paid no heed. Sara shook her head sadly. "I need to turn in the assignment to Mr. Collins before I go home. I still have some work left on it. But when I noticed the snowfall, I thought I would let you know." I grinned. "Thanks, Sara. Good luck with your assignment! I’ll be back to check up on you!" With that, I ran out of the library like an excited little girl. As soon as I stepped outside the campus, I noticed the late afternoon sky was covered with grayness while snowflakes descended gracefully from the clouds. I breathed, filling my lungs with the cold air.

Tiffany yelled, and Snow trembled, sweat trickling down her face, her lips sealed together. "Go get me an espresso, and it better be outside of school. I don’t care if you sneak out; just don’t get caught. If you do, it’ll be ten times the pain you’ll receive when you get back," Tiffany warned, flashing a smile at Snow. A smile that sent shivers down her spine. "Okay," she murmured and stood up to her feet, her legs rushing out of the library. She could practically feel her heart beating with fear and paranoia.
