It's Time to Let Go
Anna gently patted my back and comforted me softly, saying, "It's okay. It's okay. It will pass."
I didn't know how long I cried, but eventually, I calmed down enough to draw away.
Anna handed me a glass of wine. I took the glass and downed it in one go, letting the alcohol numb my pain.
After a while, I noticed a series of missed calls on my phone. They were all from Charles. I took a deep breath and called him back.
"Cindy, where are you? I'll come pick you up," he answered almost immediately. He sounded exhausted and slightly panicked.
