The tab is still open. Her profile photo is a soft shot of her glowing face, wild curls, sunlight hitting just right. Her skin looks smooth enough to tempt your fingers into tracing the delicate curve of her cheek. She isn’t doing much, just smiling, but she has the kind of smile that stays with you, claiming space in your mind. I swallow, my throat suddenly dry. I scroll down her profile again. She posts stuff for women. Feminine hygiene, moisturizers, soaps… all that stuff.

This is a different woman, her confidence and knowledge shining brightly as she talks about her app. Her team also looks professional and prepared for their presentation. They have done a lot of research and know exactly what they are talking about. Their ability to answer questions during Q&A shows me how well-prepared they were. Still, my mind isn’t on the app. Instead, I find myself watching the curve of her lips, the fullness, the shape of her nose. Her big brown eyes. The way her chest swells when she laughs. How her skin glows under the lights. She is stunning. I am drawn to her in a way I haven’t felt for anyone. Ever. “Mr. Abercrombie.”

“Yeah, but it’s a common use for the word.” “Doesn’t make it right,” she grumped. Jack smiled. He liked this about her. He liked that she had all these opinions that she didn’t shy away from sharing. He flat-out just liked talking to her, regardless of the topic of the conversation. She could be debating the merits of shower gel over soap and he would find it all fascinating because she was saying it.

I hadn't seen it before, but her conflicted review piqued my interest. "Remember, there's no need to put yourself through an emotional wringer. We can always pick something else" I offered, hoping to reassure her that her comfort was my priority. "I think you're right, it might be too intense for tonight. I could use something light-hearted and humorous" she conceded, her fingers deftly navigating through a different genre. Her face beamed with excitement as she discovered the perfect pick "This one. Have you seen it before?" she asked, turning towards me with an expectant look.

He was forced to check the institution she attended , it was a Canadian University, making him even more surprised.
