I'm squeezed, but halfway there when when what? then I see Him. Time freezes. I make his face out among the many dull faces I see every single day. What I feel is nothing like what I've read in books, seen in movies, or whatever. There's nothing nice about it. It's scary. I can hear my heartbeat drumming loud in my ears, louder than the music playing. It's like I have something stuck in my throat and it lays heavy there. My palms are sweating and my heart keeps skipping beats. I feel that terrible tightening in my stomach, it's not exactly painful but it's that awful stir I get when we have a test and I see the sheet contains questions I have not studied for.

he murmurs into the mic. His pinky hooks briefly around the mic stand. Wiggles. Childish. Quick. Gone in a second. My breath stutters. A secret sign for me — we pinky-sweared. The crowd whoops, clueless. My stomach drops. My body goes still. I consider myself somewhat brave and maybe a little more than somewhat intelligent — but not necessarily cultivated. But right now I’m rather spooked — my brain blue-screens, and my muscles lock like I’ve been hit with a stun gun.

Trying impossibly to relax my nerves, take deep breaths, stop my trembling hands. All to no avail. Something isn’t right. I can feel it even if I don't want to, and it scares me to death. And this time, I’m not sure I’ll be able to laugh it off.

Carolina I'm locked in. I take a deep, shaky breath. The closet is dark and small, and I've never been a fan of tight spaces. The panic wells inside me, and despite my attempts to calm myself down, I start to hyperventilate. The breaths are desperate, like my body is convinced that I'm not getting enough air.

The sight of it sent a chill down my spine. "Alexander," I whispered to myself, my voice barely audible, I had no idea what to think or do, the silence in the room made the air suffocating and I began hyperventilating like one who suffers from claustrophobia. My mind felt like a whirlwind of thoughts, each more horrifying than the last.

Why now, of all times? Is this some twisted joke? My wolf’s longing for Dixie and my inability to even tel anyone. “Get it together, Trix, you don’t have time for this.” I mutter to myself. But no matter how hard I try, I still can’t shake the feeling that there’s something. Maybe it’s just stress. Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me. Dixie must have put a spell on me… cause what else can explain this psychotic thing happening to me?
