Because the Moon is so far away, it doesn't seem to move at all and appears to follow.

I growl. "Your Majesty!" "Leave… Ugh ..!" “But—” "Leave!" I raised my eyes to the sky and took in the rays of the setting sun. My eyes were hurting so much that I couldn't look at the sun properly. But I kept seeing it around and around, and it was becoming brighter. As little more than a reason, the moon will be in a round shape tonight. The hours passed by and I was not wrong when I said it would be a full moon.

She dryly said. “Do you really think that poofing into a room when you are NOT expected is a good idea?” Storm shot back. “Whoa, wait just a hot damn minute!” Koltyn said. “Did she just say... Selene, that her child... as in Selene? The Moon Goddess, Selene?” He gapped. Storm sighed. “Your majesties, this is my mother, the Moon Goddess, Selene and I guess, you could call her my Aunt, Tiamat.” She introduced.

To me, both seemed to be the same light, originating from the same source. "Not quite," Silver replied, attempting to shed light on the distinction. "When the sun's rays touch the moon before reflecting, the energy changes. It transforms into a different aura, a cold kind of energy rather than the warmth we associate with direct sunlight." My eyes widened in realization. "So, moonlight isn't just sunlight bouncing off the moon; it's like a transformed version of sunlight, carrying a different energy?"
