TRAPPED IN THE DARK CASTLE
She responded by conjuring chains of shadow that wrapped around his arms, pulling him to his knees.
“Oliver!” I yelled.
He looked toward me briefly, his eyes bright and furious. “Do it, Amy. Now!”
My breath hitched.
No more hesitation.
I pressed the blade against my skin and dragged it slowly. The pain flared instantly, sharp and bright, but I clenched my teeth and forced the dagger through. Blood welled up quickly and coated the blade, dripping down the hilt.
The pure blood burned as it touched the silver—an intense reaction that caused the blade to glow faintly. I watched as the red deepened into a bright, unnatural crimson, swirling around the metal like a living liquid.
