Without even bothering to fight him off, the boy lifted two fingers to his lips and let out an ear piercing whistle that echoed across the quiet parking lot. For a second, nothing happened. Then, like it was some sort of signal, softer versions of the whistle started echoing from all around us. Lucas let the boy drop back down to the ground and turned towards me, the blood draining from his face.
