Both of his claws extended out as he slashed one of the men. Instead of tossing his body away, he ripped his insides out as blood spurts on his face but he was smiling. The looks on the faces of his enemies were magnificent. They looked terrified. Hunter's men shifted into their wolf form as they lunged at the enemies. Including Hunter, there were only four of them while the enemies were nine in number.

Without even bothering to fight him off, the boy lifted two fingers to his lips and let out an ear piercing whistle that echoed across the quiet parking lot. For a second, nothing happened. Then, like it was some sort of signal, softer versions of the whistle started echoing from all around us. Lucas let the boy drop back down to the ground and turned towards me, the blood draining from his face. He stretched out a hand to me, “we have to go now Luna.” It felt like everything happened in slow motion. From the first thump at the back of my head, to the cold slimy feeling as bits of raw egg flowed into the space behind my collar and down my back.

Kaelen roared. He charged the clone. The boy didn't move. He didn't flinch. He just pressed a button on his cane. A high-pitched whine filled the arena. Kaelen stopped. He grabbed his head. He screamed. He fell to his knees clawing at his ears. "Sonic frequency," the boy explained calmly. "Designed specifically for the Genesis physiology. It liquefies the brain." Kaelen writhed in the mud. Blood began to pour from his ears.

Android condemned it. “Android!” Zinnia looked at her dog. "Bad boy." Zinnia added. No way, you're a good boy now, Android. You belong to me. Lucas immediately stroked his dog's head. Zinnia walked closer to Lucas and took Android in her arms. Its hands were slightly touching when Zinnia took over Android. Lucas follows Zinnia inside, where Android is about to be injected with anti-rabies.

Riska shouted at the Master AI. The Master AI blinked, and suddenly a powerful, low-frequency sound wave swept through the tunnel, heading straight for Kevin. VVVVWWWOOOOMMMMMM! Kevin staggered, his hands reflexively covering his ears. His 'Level 3 Synthetic Buff' gave him physical strength, but it did not make him immune to sonic attacks. "Argh! What is this?!" Kevin roared, his protein pistol wavering. "That's a modified version of the 'Sugar Disintegration Sonic Wave,' Kevin!" Riska shouted, her voice firm.

The bag my mother had packed was getting heavier and heavier with each step. The talking was helping keep my fear of the forest at bay, but now, in the silence, the hooting and howling were getting to me. I rushed up to join Kent. I mean if I was stuck in the Unclaimed Forest with anyone, I would pick the most powerful Alpha. As I ran up to him, I must have stepped into some slippery mud because instead of landing next to him, I slammed into his back. We were winning. Then, the ground vibrated. From the dark ridge overlooking the courtyard, a heavy, armored Zunter vehicle rolled into view. Mounted on top was a massive, satellite-dish weapon. "Seth, get down!" I screamed through the link, but it was too late. A massive, invisible wave of high-frequency acoustic energy discharged from the dish. The sound didn't hit our ears—it hit our skulls. It was a localized sonic weapon designed to shatter a wolf’s internal equilibrium. Hunter and Seth dropped to their knees, clutching their heads as their wolves howled in pure agony.

Their cruelty and laughter echoed in my ear. One girl yanked at my hair and then another boy rubbed berries into my dress, staining it like blood. “She is useless,” someone said. “She shouldn’t even be in the pack.” They circled me, chanting: “Wolfless. Worthless. Weakling.” Each word like a stone targeted straight at my heart. I curled in on myself, wishing I could vanish.
