Canice's gaze flickered briefly to his mother, then back to me with intensified anger. "Are you threatening my mother?" he growled, charging towards me with clenched fists, disregarding his mother's plea for calm. A fierce growl rumbled from his throat, powerful enough to make Canice halt and take a few cautious steps back, his eyes wide with a mix of shock and defiance. Canice, reluctant to show any sign of fear, fixed a hard glare on Xavier, who returned the stare with equal intensity. Xavier's presence alone was enough; he didn't need to display his aura to a

he whispered frantically, rubbing the boy’s back as Leo buried his face into Xavier’s chest. Leo gripped Xavier’s shirt tightly, his small fingers hooking into the fabric. "Uncle Xavier... why does Mommy hate me? Why am I not strong like Daddy Duncan?" Xavier’s eyes filled with thick, burning tears. He tightened his embrace, burying his face in the boy's soft dark hair. He could smell his own genetic frequency completely overriding the boy's scent. This was his son. His beautiful, gentle boy. The "Oxygen Debt" was back. Every foot I moved away from Julian felt like a brick being added to my chest.

I walked toward him, ignoring the way the silver chains hissed when they brushed my skin. "The sickness. The Council is making the music. You just have to change the station." He let out a whimper, a high, thin sound that broke my heart. He shifted back, the bones popping and grinding as he forced his body into a human shape. He collapsed onto the stone, his skin pale

“Leo is my just my son and no one else's not even you, I don't care to know what biology says because I nurtured him only right from when he was a foetus up till now. Suddenly, the door burst open. Sienna stormed in and everything shattered. “Enough!” she snapped without even knowing what was said before she went in. “You are humiliating yourself!” she told Ethan then she turned to me, “You planned this, your coming back was just to ruin him.” she said ranting. “I came back for work,” I replied calmly. “And you ruined him all by yourself.” I said to her and she shook her head.
