Without wasting a second, I filled the tub and sank into the warm bath, letting the heat wrap around my body like a blanket.
A soft sigh escaped my lips as I leaned back, eyes closed, trying to relax my restless mind. The water eased the tension in my muscles, and for a brief moment, the world outside faded away. All I could feel was calm… but my thoughts still lingered on Linda, on Mom, and that scream.
