"What the hell? What did she do in there? Why does it stink so badly?" Marcus frowned hard. Fighting his nausea, he switched on the greenhouse lights. My body lay curled on the ground, completely unresponsive. "What are you playing at, Bianca? Get up now!" Marcus roared. He thought I was retaliating by doing something revolting to express my dissatisfaction toward them. My soul stood right beside him. I watched as his face grew more furious at my silence and thought what a tragedy this was. Mackenzie pinched her nose and cast a look of repugnance before letting out an exaggerated scream. "Oh my god! How repulsive! Did she mess with the pesticides in here? That's so dangerous!"

Sex was the only upside to their farce marriage and Kristen had removed that option, showing him how crazy she was in the first place. The next morning, she exhibited another characteristic of crazy. Adrian did not forget that his brand new wife was a shitty cook. Even if he tried to, he could forget that she almost burnt down the cabin while they were on vacation. Adrian woke up that morning to the choking smell of smoke. He actually forgot that he had a brand new roommate and feared that he left something on the previous night, something that had inadvertently led to the fire. He rushed to the living room where he noticed the source of the fire. Kristen had the good grace to look sheepish.

He was already muttering prayers in his head, even when he knew that God wouldn’t help him in that absurd situation. The booth seemed to have thousands of rooms that went on forever, but maybe it just felt like it in Sane’s mind as they felt like they weren’t seeing the exit anywhere, and that they were only walking in circles. His sense of direction was no longer working even when he knew the set-up of the booth at the back of his head.

"Don't just sit on your ass, go and help your mother." I smile as Xavier strides over to help me. I pat him on the back in thanks as he reaches for the plates and brings them to the table. We all sit together, the clatter of forks and plates mixing with the soft murmur of conversation. Steam rises from the spaghetti but I barely notice it. My eyes wander over my family, taking in the effortless ease of being together. I'm the luckiest woman alive.
