Their black armor, etched with silver runes, shimmered beneath the lantern light. My heart thrummed with power as I stepped forward, cloak swirling like a ripple of night. The scent of my minions, this legion of darkness washed over me in waves: leather, steel, earth. I felt the familiar surge of magic coursing through my veins, the heady rush that came with absolute control. Tonight, we would unleash the first wave of my dark creatures upon the Crimson Moon pack. I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply, savouring the moment before the storm.

I lower my mug, padding my fingertips over my lower lip, wondering if I bit myself and I’m bleeding and that’s where the strange, coppery taste is coming from, but then a burst of energy rockets through the room, and a dizzying spell of violet hued magic appears with Blake at it’s center. I scream, spilling my coffee all over my lap and sweater. Blake steps out of the haze, ripping off his thick, navy blue cloak, and rushes to me. “Fuck, I’m sorry. I’m–are you okay?” He guides me out of the chair, holding me at arm’s length to inspect the dark stain on my sweater and the coffee seeping into my slacks. What a great start. He chews his lower lip, his eyes lifting to mine. “Come with me.”

The cloak, black as a moonless night, billowed around him, its edges seemingly dancing in an otherworldly breeze. It exuded an aura of dread and malevolence, as if it were a living entity feeding on the fears of those who dared to gaze upon it.

The mages behind him raced over to assist, but their movements halted under Rage's scrutiny. Even the senior magician, who usually appeared to be dignified and strong in his eyes, was visibly shivering as the gathering of mages truly began to tremble. "Tch." Dior felt embarrassed gazing at this old and dull man. What type of support—if any—had they been dispatched to offer? "Spatial Dimension." Crack! "What!?" The ground beneath Dior suddenly split apart and vanished, leaving behind a pitch-black void as she hastily leaped up. She was left with a world that was completely in the dark because the skies above her had likewise vanished. The demon was the only one beside her.

My gaze locks onto Sorin's translucent form. Did you find them? I ask. No, but I figured out why you can't. I sit up straighter, instantly alert. What! How? The magic they use to cloak their territory has a particular signature. They're using magic to cloak it? His pale head nods. It's cerulean magic. All of the color drains from my face and my chest tightens. "Jada what's wrong? Did Sorin find something?" Nix asks. "The angels use magic to cloak their territory," I tell them. "Okay and?" My tongue flicks out to run over my dry lips. "It's my mother's magic."

When there is emergency from a far away kingdom, as long as the spatial mage has seen the place, they can make spatial magic to that place. Their magic can alco be formulated into an attack, a strong one at that, but only few spatial mages were able to do that.

We parted when we heard clapping. Then I reached back and touched the arch, sending my magic into the wood and the flowers. The pixilettes fluttered away as teal and bronze flames sprang to life around us. They didn't burn anything, but they sparkled and glittered against the setting sun. The clapping grew louder and everyone got to their feet. My mom lifted Clare so she could see. The little girl reached out a hand and sent her own magic into the arch so it mingled with mine. All seven magics grew, their colors blending and lifting until they nearly touched the sky.
