Just silence. And somehow, that silence said everything.

She didn’t know then that some silences weren’t empty. They were waiting. Waiting for the moment they could break everything open.

She said waving it off. I filled my plate with some eggs, bacon, and a biscuit. I spread some butter and jam on the biscuit as someone came up and filled up a glass with orange juice. "Oh thank you" I mumbled out with a mouth full of food. They just smiled and walked back into the kitchen. "So I have something to share" Lorenzo said breaking the comfortable silence. "Our mind link earlier Tony, she can hear it" He said pushing a thumb in my direction. Tony looked at me with a blank stare. "Is this true?" He asked. "Yeah" I said. His eyes glazed over and so did Mateo's. Purple chicken I heard Tony's voice say.

" Shane closed his eyes in pain. His head hung low, and his voice was hoarse. "I know it's all my fault. "I just hope I can stay by your side. "I don't mind being treated like a stranger. I'll just watch over you two in silence." I said nothing. After turning around, I walked to the window and watched the sky gradually turn dark. "Leave, and don't come back." Shane stood frozen there for a long moment. Only when I repeated my dismissal did he stagger away. His silhouette with the scenery of sunset behind him looked lonely and desolate.

Not cruelly. She smiled at me knowingly. “What exactly would you like me to interpret?” I asked. She folded her hands. “The silence.” A murmur rippled through the council. I let my gaze sweep the room. Councilmen shifting in their seats. Darius sat unmoved while Seraphine watching quietly, her expression unreadable. “The silence,” I repeated. “Yes,” the priestess said. “The pauses.. The glances.. The things left unsaid.. The goddess speaks most clearly there.”

No flicker. Still… The silence screamed louder than anything else.

I said. The silence that enveloped the Astropheles was a new kind of silence. It wasn't the tense hush of hiding, the profound void of the Stillness, or the grim quiet of a battlefield after the fight. This was a deep, resonant, and utterly peaceful silence. The silence of a story that had reached its natural, satisfying conclusion. The universe hummed along without us, a symphony of self-sustaining narratives, and we were finally, truly, audience members.

They giggled and whispered. Silas walked up onto the stage and stood in front of all of them with his hands placed on his hips. He cleared his throat. All of them immediately stopped talking and all eyes were on him. Power radiated off of him and his voice was loud and clear as he spoke out to them, "We have a visitor."

THE COST OF A WHISPER The Silence Isn't Fear. It's a Cage. Ceres stalked the marbled corridor of the east wing, her boots echoing like accusations against the silent tapestries. "She's stopped speaking in council," she muttered, scanning the empty hallway. "She's stopped writing. Stopped defying."

Then I sit back, let the cold air bite at my skin, and whisper to myself: “Let her guess.” Because this time, I am not coming with noise. I am coming with silence. And silence always cuts deeper.
